So everyone loves 'evolution not revolution' until we don't win every game?
Everyone will happily take 12th or 18th until we drop points and then they quickly forget that target?
Have some forgotten again that we always start slow in the first few games, every season under DC? That would be every season in a new division, and are you forgetting we went up after those slow starts? Twice
This is how DC does things. It's worked so far, and will continue to do so. Why are people so impatient? Promotion this season would be a disaster, anyway.

If you want to talk injury prone then without doubt Liam Lawrence takes the Gold medal with Puddy the silver and Mansell / Sinclair tied at Bronze

You could make a similar list for most of our players before they signed for us. Monkhouse was a marquee signing though. We haven't really bought proven quality since. Lines, Easter and Lawrence were all signed after him and all proven at a higher level. A lot of so called proven players, are just after a good pay day, we have made that mistake in the past. I would take young hungry players, with a few experienced players everytime. It has worked during the last 2 seasons, why change a winning formula, unless it's no longer working?

my list of players are probably mostly unrealistic but i worry that we havnt really improved the side anywhere unless the chelsea youngsters have good seasons. roos v mildenhall hartley v mcchrystal 3 right backs! leadbitter, roberts and james clarke[he struggles at centre-back] if dc sticks with the back 3 he will need to move lockyer to the left and play hartley central. i will give all the new players a chance and often defend them and our promotion players on here but i dont get why we have 27 players and 6 loans ??

However, we have to hope that we get more solid and start picking up some wins - I think we will.

How he thinks the signings we made could cover the cost of 3 from his own list😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Simpson was on like 10k in League 2 ffs. Agard was a £1M transfer fee and JET is probably the highest earner on that list by a while!
There's a reason you pay to watch Rovers and DC gets paid to manage Rovers.

There aren't any near-certain bets in football. I could list loads of players with plenty of league games who have failed at Rovers. Anyway, lets look at your list:
charlie mulgrew - why would we want a 30 year old left back, when we have cover in that area? Why would he have dropped down to League 1 with us, rather than Blackburn in the Championship? Oh, and only played 29 games in England. leon best - 59 goals from 276 games, hardly prolific. Why would he have dropped down to League 1 with us, rather than Ipswich in the Championship? jay simpson - 65 goals from 262 games, again hardly prolific. Scored plenty in League 2, but only 11 from 69 in League 1, so how you could call him a near-certainty to do well. derrick williams - Why would he have dropped down to League 1 with us, rather than Blackburn in the Championship? scott wagstaffe - Journeyman, failed at Championship level. We've done so well with that type of player in the past! john brayford - Why would he have dropped down to League 1 with us, rather than Burton in the Championship? You want to break the bank on a 28 year old right-back? kieran agard - 6 in 34 for Yeovil? 17 in 73 for City (what's your obsession with City cast offs?) Not even first choice for MK Dons, so how can you say a near-certain success? lloyd dyer - a 33 year old left winger, and another one who signed for a Champpionship club. jay emanuel thomas - 73 goals in 268 games, spent most of last season on the bench, I'm hardly creaming in my pants.
I'm trying to find any players in your list who would be certainties to do well, or who we wouldn't have to pursuade to leave a Championship club for a newly promoted League 1 club.

Lines & Easter prove you can sign experienced players who still want to put in a decent shift? The only dodgy signing so far looks Moore and would he really turn down a contract offer at PV just to milk us for pay for 2 seasons?

It's called finding our feet, as we adapt to a new division , give our new signings a little time to gel and get used to our managers ways . We,ve done it the last few seasons.

The new signings are not the problem; the problem is that some of the existing players haven't stepped up a level and this may be they are not good enough for L1 (although you cannot judge at this early stage) or are not being deployed in a way which suits them.

i guess the city thing is that the players mentioned played lots of games in a team that won this division easily but of course no player is a sure thing but apart from moore and james most have our signings have barely any experience of any senior football! i just feel we signed 7 when 2 more experienced players would have been better. of course if say 4 of the 7 do very well this season then my fears will be unfounded.

Like my missus, I don't need a reason to have a bloody good moan, it's a great British pastime after all!
Just imagine how boring it would be if we won 3/4-0 every week, what would we do with ourselves?

It's a marathon now though not a sprint as the loan windows shut to January, what happened if we signed 2 players and one struggled for form/suffered a serious injury, DC would be down to one extra player, whereas not he has 5 or 6 even 1 or 2 struggle. Although I don't know why he didn't sign one experienced CM or CF when in the past we've signed Monky, Lines, Lawrence and even Fallon (perhaps the last two have put DC off signing experienced pros!)
