For. *. Sake.
I actually cant even be bothered to write down my moan.
The one chance we get to recruit new fans. And we colour in a whiteboard.
I cant see one, but surely a huge eye-catching banner with BRISTOL ROVERS FC (and student offers you cant turn down) is pre-requisite for this kind of day?

At least we are making some effort to try and promote ourselves to the student masses. It's a very large group of people who are often at a loose end at weekends. It would be nice to see the stall manned by someone from the club who was vocally encouraging students to come over and look whilst taking the opportunity to sell some tickets to upcoming home games. But, one step at a time.

The stand would look OK without the wipe board? But why use the St George's flag/England to advertise the club to students?
Seems odd to me we're not making a big issue about the stadium to new students as surely that would be an eye catcher? Also why not advertise cheap tickets for a forthcoming league game as well?

Key fobs .........
Not sure on the costs but give away key fobs......they will all have new keys for various things....every time they lock or unlock they see BRFC....every time someone else sees their keys they see BRFC . Make it a bottle opening key fob and you bump up the usage and visability.....
Just an ideal like me luvers

Cheap booze is what students want. Get them in by selling them cheap booze then bombard them with exciting football and they'll be falling over themselves to watch the Gas ( literally).

students also like a 70's night... set it up in the Bristol room, call it 'car wash' or 'bogie nights' and get flogging those awful blue wigs....

Clear, precise instructions on how to get to the Mem from UWE cos thats the first thing I'd be asking if I wasn't from the area, promote the student flexi-ticket, but most importantly get rid of the watering whiteboard.
Is it a case of students don't make us money and our effort reflects this?

Thing is, we're trying to think of ways of getting students to come and support the Rovers but if I'm honest there's nothing i can't stand more than a watered up student in fancy dress. Not sure I want one stood in front of me whole game π ( unless it's a fit bird in a nurses costume even then there's a time and a place).

I love my club and hate to knock it, but....
That is totally embarrassing and in my opinion 'not fit for purpose' FFS, the whole point of us moving to UWE, being more professional etc is to move on from our 'Rag Bag Rovers' tag. We have pop up banners etc in the Dribuild Suite we could have taken and surely someone could have planned this a bit better. This is our first point of contact to thousands of students and is how our club will be perceived.
Sorry but this is up there with Santas Grotto π

Embarrassing, unprofessional, amateurish. Wael and Steve H I'm sure are busy with what can be considered far more important tasks for the future of BRFC, but those in charge of this exhibition have been entrusted with what is also an important task in generating interest at an event that has the potential to draw in a fairly large amount of new fans to the club. This is total Rag-Bag and rushed and whoever organised this ought to do whatever they can to make MASSIVE improvements for future events like this. I'm looking forward to a bright new future for the Gas and I'm sure we'll get there, but the marketing and image of the club has to drastically improve if we're to massive our potential.

Sorry but this is up there with Santas Grotto π We haven't ever made much effort with students and last season they took the student discount away with no warning or explanation. The club clearly aren't interested which I find utterly bizarre given 50,000 students on the city, an old stadium with spare capacity (most of the time), a new stadium with spare capacity and... Oh... Building the stadium at the UWE. It's a mockery of a sham of a travesty of a mockery.

BTW - I campaigned about this issue last season and asked the club to reinstate a student discount this season but got shot down by both the club and some of our fans.
You reap what you sow.
