We've got used to Rovers coming on strong in the later stages of games.
Here's the actual stats as to when we've scored our goals (including Cardiff,
Chelsea and Reading Juniors!)
Minutes:
0 - 15 0
16-30 4
31-45+ 3
46-60 7
61-75 6
76-90+ 11
Our earliest goal was in the 25th minute v Oxford.
Ditto Colkett v Oldham.
A testament to fitness, persistence and spirit!

it's always been clear that Darrell likes the 'high intensity' approach at the end of matches....
the last 10 mins can be the entire game if everyone's switched on to it and believes it's possible....

In my entire life of watching football, even if I live to be 150 I will never understand the mentality of people that leave early to beat the traffic. I stand in the East Terrace near the bottom of one of the stairs to the stand, and it never ceases to amaze me the number of people (many that i recognise as the same ones each week) leaving early for every single game. Sometimes the exodus starts 15 minutes before the end of normal time. I'm sure there will be the old "I've paid for my ticket therefore i can do as I please" argument, but its clear to me that thes people just don't understand or "feel" the game. We could be at 1-1 against Man U in the 3rd Round of the FA cup and it would still happen. I mean, when people were leaving last year 10 minutes before the end of the Accy game, it made me think what is the point of turning up at all? Rant over, and I don't feel any better for it. |

Totally agree it is ridiculous. How many goals are scored near the end of games? If it is that evident that the players haven't tried and you get hammered then I could maybe understand it. I totally agree that they don't feel it. Even when I we have been getting hammered by the likes of Leyton Orient in the past, I have gone to go, got to the top of the stairs and still stayed to watch just in case. I remember a couple of years ago, was it Southend fans leaving just before the end in the playoff final then they equalised right at the end and some of their fans were trying to get back in. I mean it is ridiculous enough anyway but especially in such a big game. On the flip side, at the Swindon away game which was abandoned this season, I left to go outside to find more cover whilst we were waiting to find out what was going on, then I went to go back inside as they were going to make the announcment if it'd be on or not and the steward was going to refuse me entry as "I shouldn't have left", I said why can't I go back in, I still have my ticket?! Eventually he did let me back in, only for it to be postponed anyway. Stewards like this water me off though as they just incite trouble IMO. |

from what I've witnessed in West enclosure there are 3 common strategies for leaving early:
1. joint the group of about 50 blokes stood by the exit next to the southwest stand
2. walk up the steps into the west stand and proceed to walk very slowly
3. go around the back of the west stand quickly then gatecrash the family enclosure

Also, as they are leaving they will still continue watching the match not looking where they are walking, which more often than not is right into me.

I left early once in about 2007 when we were losing 2-0 at Huish park. By the time I got to the car we'd won 2-3. Never again.

My old man took me to rovers millwall about 1984 roughly, one of my first memories of watching rovers., we were losing with a Few minutes to go and he said "come on son you won't learn anything here it's rubbish".. We scored 2 very late goals, and we actually watched the goals together on YouTube last year some time.. |

Had similar at Twerton,the old man was feeling a bit groggy and we were one down to Cardiff,we left and heard the roar as we equalised,got to the car to find out on the radio we got a winner,made him feel a bit better anyway.

Had similar at Twerton,the old man was feeling a bit groggy and we were one down to Cardiff,we left and heard the roar as we equalised,got to the car to find out on the radio we got a winner,made him feel a bit better anyway. I was there, 12 years old, in the family enclosure which was behind the goal at that time. We had been a few rows back but as loads had left, we ended up right at the front. Both goals in injury time, and Mehew headed the winner. I was right behind the goal at the front and he clambered all over their defender for what really should have been a clear foul! Cardiff fans stormed the pitch and police horses were on the pitch to help get them back in the stands. Quite scary for a 12 year old to witness. I've always hated Cardiff since, despite living there for 3 years! Great memory of that win, though! One of our run of six 2-1 wins in a row, most of which were from 1-0 down. |

I watch the game with my mates in the east terrace in the match, I walk out and watch the last 5 mins with my family before getting a lift back with them. To the untrained eye I am an early leaver and have been heckled! I had to take it up loudly that I was going to another part of the ground. |

The year of a lot of 2-1 wins. If I recall Cardiff scored quite early then just time wasted. I think I may have said to someone in the 90th minute we'd still score 2. Referee did add on a considerable amount of time for Cardiffs time wasting |
