So if the Shztheads don't get promoted and Bristol get relegated surely that must be seen as failure this season You can have the monopoly of ownership of all the different sports in Bristol but What is the point of having a portfolio of failing sporting acquisitions. SL is not going to continue that embarrassment surely for any great length of time. A fool and his money springs to mind. Here's hoping the gas get promoted this season and the sh@t struggle to mid table - doesn't matter which owner has the most money what does matter is the way they spend it and i'de rather have Waels principles and philospy than that of the head of the sewer rat franchise

Bristol Rugby used to toddle off to Ashton Gate for these games anyway to get a bit of extra money, even before they officially moved out.
The ground being a war memorial didn't seem worthy enough to stage a game of this magnitude then did it?
F**k em!

Rugby is for p**s drinking, fat, tories. Tories can't afford to go to the rugby, that is for the nouveau riche Leftie brigade now.

Grew up in Bath. Worked with a player in the early 90's. Drank with him as well so definitely Bath for me.

As a boy my first trip to the Mem was to watch Bristol Rugby, Alan Morley days, early 80s
I always followed Bristol and the gas , I even tried to watch Bristol at Ashton Gate once, but I just can't do it, I felt sick in the Dolman
Lansdown has ruined Bristol Rugby for me now, I don't want them to lose but I can't support them anymore, just watch for results

Not that bothered about rugby myself but surely Bristol did not have a lot of choice really, we stole their ground and we all moaned about the pitch and let us not forget we could still be playing in Bath if Bristol Rugby had not let us ground share with them, so what if they are now run by the dark side best of luck to them it was the only chance they had of moving forward, i would not go to watch them or any Rugby game but i always watch out for their results and always want them to beat whoever they are playing i am a proud Bristolian and they are our local team there i feel much better now getting that of my chest UTG !

They didn't let us ground share it cost us 2+ million to own half of it and keep them in existance, they wouldn't have done it otherwise.

Owning half of it is still ground sharing do you really think we could have shared for nothing? And just as well they did, also any idea what we got the rest of the ground for? if i remember it was virtually nothing.

Ten grand because they went bust again, they would of done the same if we went tits up,without us they would have lost the Mem anyway and not been still playing there. Bath city helped us a lot more.

Because we had nowhere to play, where was the rugby club offer then,we still had Twerton to play at when they needed money so had no choice but to sell half to us or the whole site to someone else. It was done because they needed money not out of friendship is all i'm saying.

I had a quick look on the Rugby Forum and it seems their ambition is to beat Worcester twice, beat Newcastle at Trashton and pick up a couple of bonus points and that will keep them in the Prem!! It's the predictabilty that ruins Rugby, Poor sides hardly ever beat good sides. Compare that to L1 results tuesday.
