So, the first competitive rugby game between these two took place tonight in many a year. Bath won convincingly and they play again in the league in a month. I aren't a great rugby fan and if the sport ceased to exist I would lose no sleep but for some reason I enjoy every Bristol defeat and hope they are relegated back to where they came from at the first time of asking.
Does anyone else feel the same way? Bath or Bristol?

Since they followed the 82ers lead and got franchised by Bristol Sport (and started turning their kit red to boot) it's hard to have any empathy for their general hopelessness at Premiership level. I still have a couple of the shirts from when I used to watch them regularly back in the Shoguns days but got virtually zero interest in them now. Other than for their propensity to lose Steve Letdown large wads of cash which is just an added bonus.

I am not a big rugby fan; but I do hate all things to do with Lansdown, and really appreciate what Bath FC did to help Rovers, when we needed a home in 1986, so its Bath for me. UTG

Having grow up in Bath in the 80's/90's, supporting Bath and Rovers was the only way. Never really cared about Bristol, but their #makingbristolproud nonsense, and the association with the dark side has made me dislike them.

It always used to be Bristol for me, but I seem to have lost all affinity recently, especially since the move to AG.

Couldn't care less about Bath or Bristol or any other rugby team which is why I come on a Rovers forum which this has nothing to do with.
Isn't there a general sport section for people interested in such banalities?

As a bristol lad who grew up in bath i have always wanted both to win,but as others have said since bristol slipped into bed with mr lansdown and bristol sport i cant bring myself to cheer them on, only one team in bristol i care about, rovers. but i dont take a pleasure in seeing them get trashed each game, unlike i do with the teds.

Not interested at all in rugby really regardless of who owns Bristol but I feel for their fans. It can't be easy seeing the clubs history and traditions being slowly eroded and taken away. Can't be much left of what the older generations of fans fell in love with.

Don't care much for Rugby Union, but while we shared the Mem' I always wanted Bristol to do well. Not anymore
I'd love to see some Rugby League at the UWE, though!

Went to Twickers many years ago to watch Bristol and a few games at the Mem,but didn't take to it. Couldn't care less about the egg chasers now but still like international rugby and always want England to win, especially against the taffs.

Bath Rugby by as many points as possible. I cant stand rugby in general but anything that annoys Lansdown I support.
