Just need Leroy to keep praising him up in the press and that should put off any potential buyers.

so what exactly is this 'cut price clause' that has been exclusively revealed by the ever reliable daily mirror....
might be believable if they cared to explain how they know about it, and how exactly it works....

If they have been watching lately they wouldn't need to listen to him,his work rate is poor and if the ball isn't passed exactly to him he's not interested If gaffney could start scoring regular he would be a much better player than him,100% effort every game

I personally am not aware of the terms and conditions of the contract so can't really comment on the value of any release clause, does seem crazy we have tied him up on a long-term contract with negliible chance of at least covering our costs.
Is the OP really ITK, or is it just supposition?

If rumours of the contract offers he turned down in the summer are even vaguely true then I'd be amazed if his agent hadn't negotiated a pretty small release clause. Whether he leaves or not we had good value out of him for half a season. God knows what position we'd be in if forced to rely on the goals output of the rest of our forwards.

I should imagine Taylor's agent is making sure that every club in the league is aware of any such clause and the amount which triggers it. Going to the press is the quickest way to make it known to all. Remember we had a similar clause when we talked Junior Agogo resigning and that was a mere £120k.

I don't like the timing of this article, being published just after our form takes a dip and the day after we get tonked at home. Agents are lady gardens. I can just imagine he had his finger on the button just waiting to push when he got the go ahead. Hope I'm wrong but this smells a bit.

He's done well for us but I reckon Championship clubs would want more for their money. So they've been watching him? Won't have been too impressed lately & his barren spells are a bit regular.

I don't think anyone cares about the odd barren spell if you knock in 28 goals one season and then have 15 by the end of November of the next. He's a massive player for us and will be very hard to replace.

I agree he is a massive player for us,but what some think we will get for him is unrealistic we will be lucky if we get 1m A lot of championship defenders will have him in their pocket, hope I'm wrong and it will be with us scoring in the championship soon Still think we're 4 or 5 players short and challenging for top 2

In my opinion only Lines, Taylor & perhaps Lockyer are good enough to make the step up. If we ever get there it is certainly going to be expensive ( transfers )to stay there.

I think he's great but only at this level personally I don't reckon he will hack it in a higher division just my opinion
