All the posters now saying DC should have gone 4 4 2, how many were saying that before 3pm yesterday?? you can play whatever formation you like but if there is no quality there's little hope

Realistically isn't this the first real blip since the start of the conference season?
In hindsight we should have cleared out a number of the squad at the start of the season but we all have 20/20 vision with hindsight!
Players deserved a chance and some of this is just people peed off and hurting after some very poor performances
start of season DC tried to plug the spine of the team with players highly rated and who performed elsewhere, he brought in two centre halves, central midfielders and a goalkeeper.
did anyone really expect this to be easy? I would have been happy with a solid mid table at start and still would be now. Three good signings, return of confidence and all will be well.
DC has already said he has money available so this isn't like other years when we knew we were short and also knew we wouldn't be able to get reinforcements.
If nothing happens in January then we should be questioning everything, personally until then I will take everyone on face value.

We are mid-table only because of a decent start to the season but on current form we're relegation zone. If this form continues we will be relegated. And if we kept the start of the season form up there's a good chance we'd get promoted. Blips happen, Rovers fans are too fickle to see that. Unfortunately though we haven't kept up the start of season form. Do you think this is just a blip?

We will not get relegated and we won't go up.

Mid table league one side. WHY ARE PEOPLE MOANING Up the gas ! I'm not moaning. I didn't boo yesterday. However, happy as I am with 11th in league 1, that doesn't mean I have to accept that crap yesterday without having my say. It was total garbage and not acceptable. DC says the same, he's not telling everyone to accept that Shyte and look where we are n the table. I hope sufficient funds are available for him to sign players who will make a real difference. Not other league 1 and 2 cast offs like Hartley, Moore, Montano, Lawrence et al, but players who will help us step up a level. Given Wael's statement that the club has to grow in a sustainable way then perhaps that won't happen. My mate said yesterday that the promotion to league 1 would not have been expected and in some ways has put Wael on the spot. If we were to be promoted to the Championship what would we do then? The Mems not fit for purpose, just like Twerton wasn't; we desperately need the UWE to happen if the club is going to grow and be self-sufficient.

No we were 2-0 down st half time playing 4-4-2 having created lots of chances but their keeper played very well, and we switched it all about and lost 5-1. Overall we've been much better when we've played wide men and using 45 minutes as an example is being a bit narrow minded , excuse the pun. We lost again playing 4-4-2 shipping in 3 goals against Chesterfield, is there going to be another excuse why we can't use this game as an example? I wasn't at that game but I thought we played the diamond ? Who were our wide men that day ?

Just looked and yep we played the diamond. Look I'm not saying we haven't got problems , we desperately need a good keeper and we still haven't replaced Mansell but we've just won two promotions playing 4-4-2 and the majority of our best performances this season and last have come when playing 4-4-2 or switching back to 4-4-2 from the diamond or 3-5-2 when things haven't gone well. It's not only my opinion it's hard facts. When we play narrow the footballs ugly , we spend most of the game getting torn a new one out wide, we hardly ever create many opportunities and we hardly ever win. In my opinion if DC is determined to play that formation then he probably needs to change half the squad or we're going to go in to free fall, and even then I think we'll struggle because it's too easy to play against.

All the posters now saying DC should have gone 4 4 2, how many were saying that before 3pm yesterday?? you can play whatever formation you like but if there is no quality there's little hope We've got enough quality in the side currently and with a few extra signings can finish top half maybe even top six, a keeper and a holding midfielder to replace msnsell top of the list. Our recent terrible run of form coincides with our terrible diamond formation I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on it. I watch a hell of a lot of football in many different divisions and I can't think of one successful side that plays the diamond. There a reason for that and our players look completely unease with it and the 3-5-2 as well.

The big trouble with DC is he wants and expects too much and that is why he changes the side all the time. If he set out with a 4-4-2 and gave it a chance by playing 2 or 3 games with it instead of changing it after 45 minutes then perhaps it will work. Pick a side and the formation and stick with it and see what happens. Judge Boateng, Montano, Easter, Lines after 3 or 4 consecutive games and see where it takes us. m If he had done this earlier perhaps by now he would have found his best team and formation. I looked at the Shrewsbury winger yesterday and thought what a great player who I would love to see play for us and then I thought..no he wouldn't get many games under DC because he stays out wide and doesn't defend. I very much expect that he plays five games on the trot and maybe has 3 like yesterday and 2 like our wingers.

We are falling like a stone because we aren't playing any wide men we so easy to play against we need to play either 4-4-2 or 4-3-3 or 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 and results will improve. Anything but the diamond. The players are good enough for league 1 and with a few additions we could challenge for a top six but not if we keep playing the diamond. We desperately need a good experienced keeper too of course. Exactly this. We are getting done out wide time and again. Millwall away was the same. If Clarke wants to persist with a diamond he needs two wide players in at and a CAM and a CDM as having four centre midfielders in there is woeful as two of them sometimes need to get out wide to provide crosses but they aren't capable of it. It was even worse yesterday and James Clarke was one of the full backs so the only player in the team capable of putting in a good cross was Brown. It's so frustrating to watch. I see why he plays that system as he wants to make us more solid. Last time we played 442 we got done 5-1 by Charlton but I don't think we had the right balance in the middle. The 442 served us so well when Mansell was screening the back 4 and Lines was able to push forward. Yesterday's performance was a disgrace but the system didn't help our cause either.

We had a spine of Mildenhall, McChrystal and Mansell last year. All 3 seem to be surplus to requirements now but imo all 3 should be in contention with the way heads seem to have dropped lately. As well as the system not working there is absolutely no communication on the pitch and players are constantly being dispossessed by someone coming from behind(no sniggering). There is no way that with those three or even two of them on the pitch that this would be going on.

I agree with you he doesn't seem to rate them. Thing is Bodin wasn't up to much last season when he was in and out of the side but once he had a run of games he was arguably our best player from Christmas onwards, Montano same but to less extent. If I was manager I'd start them both for the next two home games and definitely play them in the second game regardless of how they perform in the first. Kind of like a " you've got two games go out there and show me why I should be playing wingers " scenario . If it doesn't work ( I think it would work better than the bloody diamond on those two games ) then we know if we need to strengthen in that area. I've heard so many people say Bodin and Montano have been poor but how many consecutive games have we played them from the start and even when they haven't been great we've often still got a result just because we're so much better with width. I'm really worried that none of this is going to happen and we'll be going in to the new year in free fall watching terrible narrow football and seeing us get beat.

Like I've said we need to replace Mansell and get a top league 1 keeper pronto.

What a title... There are 116 clubs from premier league to the conference/Nat league. Which club has risen the most places since the 14-15 season? Bristol rovers, even if we sank to the bottom of this table we would be the most improved team out of 116. Then there are improvements to the club. It's a bad phase and concerning, but frankly as long as we don't get relegated it's happy days. If we win Sunday some of you will be going into your positive scizo phase again .
