The team spirit seems to have dried up now and has been for a long time...the defence is taking a battering off everyone but I personally think the midfield is where we are losing games... Dc like everyone says doesn't seem to know his best 11 and You can't expect players to be m.o.m one week then drop them And then say they've let him down..lots have way exceeded their levels of playing and now it's time to change it up for the next level... We have to dig deep financially before it's too late to keep a good pace into next season... I don't see us being relegated so we should buy one or two decent players ready for that and the rest will be gambles... If you look at the squad clearly there's more that need to go than stay... Lockyer...brown...leads...lines...taylor..gaffney...leads...Hartley...sincs.. Theses are the only ones I can see being squad players in division one for next season...the rest have done us proud and should end their careers enjoying first team football elsewhere.. Darryl said he has a 3 year plan to get into the championship then he needs to rebuild asap to give the players two seasons to get their team spirit and form at a consistent level to accomplish this... We become a soft touch to teams and now teams are picking up on it and our main problem is how cheaply we give the ball away in crucial positions...and that's from defence I.e thump it up front to the opposition or stupid passes not completed in midfield... We need some quality brought in January to keep us in a half decent position to attract more quality in the summer and move on the players that just aren't up to it...praying for some quality in Jan sales myself just hope it's us buying them

The Post is only speculating but there will of course be ins and outs.
Out: Puddy, McChrystal, C Roberts (Already Gone), Mansell, Lawrence, Gosling
Possibly Out: Roos, Boateng, Moore, James, Taylor
Roos, Moore and James because they've been poor, Boateng because his loan is up so he may choose to go back to CP and Taylor because he almost certanly has a release clause which is likely to be met.
In: GK, CB, LB, CM, RM, ST
With the exception of the LB - who will be cover for Brown - they need to be players that improve our starting 11.

I think you've living in dream land TBH if you think Lockyer...brown...leads...lines...taylor..gaffney...leads...Hartley...sincs.. are just going to be squad players next season as that will mean the players brought are all of a better ability and so more expensive contrats wise. In my view most of those will still be the back bone of the team next season, assuming DC's still in charge unless Wael is going to invest vastly more than he's done too date in the team.

Why would DC have Lawrence as a coach when he's played even less games than Kenneth or Virgo whilst he's been here, I'd seriously think DC had lost the plot if he offered him another contract. I don't even think Mansell is one of his favourites or surely he'd be playing him now? As far as James & Roos are concerned I can see we'll have problems moving them on if there parent club's don;t want them back once we agreed to keep them for 12 months. I can see Gosling, Puddy, Mansell, Lawrence, Moore, Easter and McChrystal all being told they can leave but we'll have to find somebody to take them off are hands, to suggest we need a complete clear out in the summer is a bit harsh when the same players got us to 6th and with a few additions we could look a complete different team again i.e. New GK Leads New CB Locks or Hartley Brown New CB Lines or Sincs New RW Monty New CF Taylor Although I guess that's what DC thought when he brought in Roos, Clark-Salter & Colkett/Boateng in August as apart from a CF we still need players in the same positions!! Aside from Taylor, Lockyer and the Chelsea boys i wouldn't lose sleep over any deprtures. We have a massive squad of players we need to move on as we need to build for the championship. I guess we will need to phase the departures to maintain cohesion. Who has a contract for 2017/18 ? brown, moore, bodin, lockyer, leadbitter and hartley that i know of

Do clubs ever make so many changes in January? What about gelling and suchlike? Why is the BEP being used as a genuine source? Building for the Champ? (ground/training facility)
Are you lot frustrated from past failure on Football Manager or Soccer by Post?
That being said I think we will see a GK, and a striker arrive with 3 or 4 leaving. I don't like naming names but I think those are realistic numbers.

Firstly , Rovers are not doing significantly worse than any of the other promoted clubs from last season [which is the yardstick to measure against ] .This would imply as a squad they are doing fine and no need to panic. However ,the fact clean sheets seem impossible this season is an issue that DC needs to correct for the club to move forward. As for finances I don't see huge spending happening as the club do not have the infrastructure as yet to support such spending. If the general aim is to get to the championship in three seasons when the club have the stadium and training facilities and backroom infrastructure to thrive at that level then it would seem that getting in some younger players now who will grow wioth the club over the next three years to take Rovers up would make sense. Short term I suspect DC will look at where our conceded goals are really coming from and look to replace players who seem to contribute to that problem. Maybe it could be on so many goals conceded we don't seem to see either fullback in our box defending but strikers and attacking midfielders lending awkward hands. Maybe its poor decisions from central midfield players or sloppy attack play ? Maybe the defence needs a stronger organiser ? Who knows but DC will no doubt have worked out the problem. As a guess I would say the area of the pitch that has seen the greatest changes match to match will be where DC sorts out first. Of the top of my head that would appear to be the midfield and goal keeper. There isn't that much wrong with the team ,if some of the non starters find new clubs to go and thrive at and they are replaced with players that will command first team spots then that is just evolution of the squad. How often do Rovers get a striker that scores 20+ goals three seasons on the trot ? Taylor will be very very difficult to replace so lets hope he stays and that the poor results and bad feeling hasn't pushed him into wanting to leave.

Can't believe no one has mentioned that we need another striker irrespective of Taylor going, although I have been told it is almost certain Taylor will be going. The biggest problem we have is no end product from crosses. We have no height up front and little pace. That is what must be corrected, together with a commanding centre back and decent goalkeeper. The trouble is January is not the time to sign quality players as they will all be under contract and will cost an arm and a leg. Therefore just do our best to borrow them, and spend the money in the summer when contracts are up and we can pay that bit more for good players. All season we have lumped the ball up to MT from clearances and the guy is about 4foot tall in his socks. Whether we like it or not height is necessary in football and we have almost none. Anyone who went to Bradford would have seen a tall striker who won almost everything in the air, and held the ball up well. Mansell should now be playing but I think DC sees him as a potential rival so is pushing him out. McChrystal could play until January giving us much needed height in defence but has no pace, so Lockyer would need to up his game alongside him. As gastower says, Mansell and McChrystal will probably go to Cheltenham. But I had to laugh at an earlier post when it said about selling four or five of our players. Who is going to buy Mansell? He will be collecting his pension soon. Come to that who would buy the others named? the bloke up front for Carlisle looks good The 2 upfront for Barrow looked good but I wouldn't be rushing out to buy them. But given a chance against our back four at present me & you might look good.

The biggest issue is how our we going to get rid of the players which no-one is addressing. Some fool saying sell Mansell like that's going to happen in a million years. The only sensible suggestions are Mansell and mcchrystal to Cheltenham a lot of the rest we'll have to be paid off and it's likely you'll have to be paying up their full contract so why not just keep them as there'll be no financial benefit to club. Realistically the only ones you can move on are Taylor and the loanees, and in the case of James and Roos if Peterborough and Derby didn't want them at the start of the season what would be the likelihood of them wanting them back now?

If Manse & co can get deals elsewhere I assume they'll happily take a pay off now (3 months for a 6 months contract?) as the problem with keeping so many players at the club is keeping them fit and motivated w/o it effecting the players who are playing every week. I wonder with hindsight what Wael now feels about his predecessor agreeing to offer all last season's squad contracts, a clever move by NH to agree to that offer if he knew he'd by gone by now!!

All the talk of getting Mansell out, am I the only one who thinks he can still do a job, at least until the end of the season. He may well be what our midfield have been missing this year. We have no bite whatsoever in there, we need a Mr Nasty and I think that is Manse.

But I certainly think he brings something different to the side with his experience, communication and defensive brain. Not sure whether he'd hack it in League One or not but we'll never know until he's given a chance. UTG!

The difference with MT is that he has a fixed price. Let's hope the ones we want have as well.
