The Bristol post are reporting there will be 5-6 players leaving either permanently or on loan...
What would the 5-6 players leaving for you and 3 coming in??? Before anyone puts "come on stop having a go at the players" This is what happens it's a business and players will leave for more money so let's just get that straight...

Puddy, Lawrence and Gosling will leave. Possibly James, McCrystal, Harrison. A central defender and keerper are an absolute must. Also another ball-winning midfielder, similar build to Boateng with an eye for goal. If Taylor is sold then obviously a replacement is top priority.

Any of Gosling, Montano, Harrison, james, McChrystal Puddy, Gaffey, Leadbitter, Roos (of we get a replacement). Boateng ( Back to Palace - Not given much game time). I am going to say Sinclair for summer, nice guy, tries hard, win you football matches he doesn't there are better players out there we could replace him with. Laurence and Mansell I see both becoming coaches at the club. Would say the starting 11 needs a big overhaul. 3 or 4 would be good to bring in January so they can slot in with other players that are here and DC consider good enough..and then look to replace the rest in the summer. This season has always been about staying up and honouring the players 1 year extension. it's unfortunate the players have stopped performing and showing the desire, that we now have to look at bringing in 3 or 4 to almost protect league Status and not slip to far.

If he is if he goes back he won't be able to play for Posh so that wouldn't happen. If he's not and can go back in Jan then he might do. I always thought he was to replace MT if he goes. If he does go then James might stay and play. UTG!

Why would DC have Lawrence as a coach when he's played even less games than Kenneth or Virgo whilst he's been here, I'd seriously think DC had lost the plot if he offered him another contract. I don't even think Mansell is one of his favourites or surely he'd be playing him now?
As far as James & Roos are concerned I can see we'll have problems moving them on if there parent club's don;t want them back once we agreed to keep them for 12 months.
I can see Gosling, Puddy, Mansell, Lawrence, Moore, Easter and McChrystal all being told they can leave but we'll have to find somebody to take them off are hands, to suggest we need a complete clear out in the summer is a bit harsh when the same players got us to 6th and with a few additions we could look a complete different team again i.e.
New GK
Leads New CB Locks or Hartley Brown
New CB Lines or Sincs
New RW Monty
New CF Taylor Although I guess that's what DC thought when he brought in Roos, Clark-Salter & Colkett/Boateng in August as apart from a CF we still need players in the same positions!!

You just cant play for another club if the deal is ended inbetween windows

I think James isn't a replacement for taylor as his record proves he's not...90 games for Hartlepool and 19 goals??? So I hope taylor stays otherwise that's another position we will need to fill...

I'm surprised James Vaughan hasn't been mentioned as a potential signing. Experience at a higher level and an impressive record in a poor Bury side this year. Surely can't be happy there with their current form either. UTG!

Mansell and Macca to Cheltenham. Both played well in the reserve fixture up there a few weeks ago and the short distance from their homes would suit both

Aside from Taylor, Lockyer and the Chelsea boys i wouldn't lose sleep over any deprtures. We have a massive squad of players we need to move on as we need to build for the championship. I guess we will need to phase the departures to maintain cohesion. Who has a contract for 2017/18 ?

Lawrence because the guy has made 500 odd league appearances (200+ in Championship and Prem) and has earnt International Caps. Are you saying no based on the games he has played for us. Can't believe no one has mentioned that we need another striker irrespective of Taylor going, although I have been told it is almost certain Taylor will be going.
The biggest problem we have is no end product from crosses. We have no height up front and little pace. That is what must be corrected, together with a commanding centre back and decent goalkeeper.
The trouble is January is not the time to sign quality players as they will all be under contract and will cost an arm and a leg. Therefore just do our best to borrow them, and spend the money in the summer when contracts are up and we can pay that bit more for good players.
All season we have lumped the ball up to MT from clearances and the guy is about 4foot tall in his socks. Whether we like it or not height is necessary in football and we have almost none. Anyone who went to Bradford would have seen a tall striker who won almost everything in the air, and held the ball up well.
Mansell should now be playing but I think DC sees him as a potential rival so is pushing him out. McChrystal could play until January giving us much needed height in defence but has no pace, so Lockyer would need to up his game alongside him.
As gastower says, Mansell and McChrystal will probably go to Cheltenham. But I had to laugh at an earlier post when it said about selling four or five of our players. Who is going to buy Mansell? He will be collecting his pension soon. Come to that who would buy the others named?

The man isnt a bad footballer, he is nearing retirement. He could be a good coach. In my view he's an awful example to have as a coach given he's gladly taken a 2 year contract off the club but spent most of the time out injured, he must be laughing to himself every pay day. Shrewsbury's manager/BoD must love us!! Why would DC have Lawrence as a coach when he's played even less games than Kenneth or Virgo whilst he's been here, I'd seriously think DC had lost the plot if he offered him another contract. I said earlier we did, I thought the same in the summer as we needed to replace Fallon as expecting RG/EH to fill the CF role was expecting too much of two inexperienced strikers. As far as January not being a good time to buy players doesn't that cut both ways as it means it's not the best time for clubs to buy MT, although you wonder if the change in the loan system will mean there's more players around this January. I don't think anybody realistically expects us to sell any player other than, possibly, MT but it'll be interesting to see how easy it is to off load 5 or 6 contracted players, even Roos & James may sooner stay and fight for their places than return to their parent club's and certain reserve team football unless they can fix up loan deals elsewhere. who hardly excelled in Div 2.
