Arsene wenger has stated in the papers today " the whole system has to be thought about again. Maybe you could create a possibility for some clubs to own part of a league one club as a feeder club"
I think that's a shocking thought process...arsene has stated this because they bought a player Dan Crowley when he was 15 and he's now 19 and they can't progress him to first team football...
I think premiership clubs are really struggling to keep hold of their identity as it stands and the last thing everyone in lower leagues needs is their club to used as a reserve team for premiership clubs...

If he had a brain cell between his ears he would realise that he is part of the massive problem which coincides with the demise of English Football and English footballers.

Nothing wrong for Premiership teams to have good relationships with League 1 or 2 sides that they can loan players to (like we may now have with Chelsea) but no fan is going to tolerate or allow a takeover

Most lower league clubs have links to current Chelsea players at the moment!

No chance of that happening.
The loan system should be better tho, it just seems young English prem players are loaned out to whoever has the contacts.
Maybe loans could be dished out on a draft system like the yanks.
Personally think the prem money is killing the game unless its spread down the leagues to develop youth facilities.

Totally against Premiership clubs owning any part of another club. But, I think there is scope for 'senior' clubs to take a local, lower division club under their wing. Maybe helping out with medical staff, use of training facilities, advice from ground staff, marketing support, loan of equipment etc. Rovers could adopt Forest Green or Mangotsfield, Liverpool - Tranmere, Brighton - Whitehawk etc.

City could have taken us under their wing when we were a conference team, or is that not what you had in mind ?
Sorry the money in football needs to be distributed in a better way, lower league clubs don't need or want charity or to be owned by anyone else. Premiership teams need to stop hoarding players, but if they are actually good enough there won't be a problem sending them out on loan.
AFC Wimbledon are proof anyone can and should be able to make their way up the pyramid. Perhaps Bournemouth could have become a feeder club or might have been taken over by a premiership team when they were struggling a few years ago ?
Utter tosh and shows how out of touch some of the people associated with premier teams are.

I like Gasputin's draft system idea! Maybe the start of the window two weeks to make targeted loan signings and then the rest are drafted after that... hmm

I guess there's no easy solution, Spain allows reserve sides to play in thier leagues, but Spanish football seems to be dominated by Real & Barca most seasons, so that is hardly a good example to make a competitive league.

"lower league clubs don't need or want charity"
I was involved with a tier ten club in the 90s. A nearby tier two club regularly passed on training equipment, balls, office equipment and bar/catering equipment to us and other small clubs. They also loaned us items for short term needs. I don't recall any recipient club being ungrateful.

Understand what you are saying and my comments about not being reliant on charity were more aimed at football league clubs. Of course small non league and amateur clubs will gladly take what is given and perhaps kit not good enough for a pro team can still be useful at a lower level. However with the amount of money slushing about at the top of the game surely there should be grants for equipment etc for amateur clubs. The premier league could easily fund a set of shirts and training equipment for every kids team in the country but instead the money is going to overpaid players and agents at the very top of the game.

He has been incredibly lucky that Arsenal have accepted his lack of achievement, guess if he had ever got the England job he would have had a slightly different opinion!!

with all due respect, to any foreign gas heads...this is a terrible idea for English Football. League 1 would end up being filled with foreign players.
