3 points from three very tough games. 1 goal conceded. 3 very tough games still to come, though! Brutal month. If we can nab a win at Port Vale on Saturday we'll be in good shape. I agree a win Port Vale would set us up nicely although I think we will beat Scunny at home they have not been at their best lately and they won't fancy coming to the Mem at the moment as our record speaks for itself. Still plenty to play for in my eyes great to see we seem to have sorted out our defensive problems (touch wood!) We just need the stadium good news now and everything will be tickety boo & jolly hockey sticks! I hope the team and DC don't think the Vale game will be easy and a gimme 3 points. If they do then rovers will lose. This is the game Rovers need to win ,in a way its more important than the matches against the title contenders. Another clean sheet and a goal from one of our strikers will do just fine.

I reckon we will probably end up with between 5 and 7 points from the six games, there's a chance we'll be unbeaten the whole month which would be a good achievement but only get 6 points, probably a bit of a disappointment.

Yep agree and I'm going to stick my neck out now and say 10 point return. Think we can beat Vale and Scunthorpe and get a draw at Bolton. Rich would be proud of me with that stretching return lol

One thing I would never have predicted from those 6 games is 6 draws! I actually think 6 points is a pretty good outcome, but we'll be frustrated we didn't win a couple of them in the cold light of day.
This is our run in:
Oxford (a) ~ 9th Southend (h) ~ 7th Bury (a) ~ 18th Chesterfield (h) ~ 23rd Coventry (a) ~ 24th
Shrewsbury (h) ~ 16th Wimbledon (a) ~ 12th Gillingham (a) ~ 19th Oldham (h) ~ 20th Peterborough (a) ~ 8th Millwall (h) ~ 6th
What kind of points tally do you think we might get from this? I'm going to go for 15pts, giving us 63 overall. To reach the play offs we're going to probably need over 2 points a game. A tough ask, but then again in 15/16 we averaged 2.36 from our last 11, whilst in 14/15 we averaged 2.18 from the same number of games. You wouldn't totally rule it out........

I said similar things back in November about the run of games we had up to Christmas all being against poor sides. Yet it turned out to be one of our worst spells of the season. Funny old game. UTG!

True. I think there are some pretty tough fixtures in there. If you put a shotgun to my head I'd say we'll finish bang in the middle of the table, but a case can be made for better. A couple of wins now and we would start dreaming....

I'm glad nobody has gone into meltdown with the 6 point return, it really looks like a decent return, one which I was personally doubtful we'd be able to achieve.

Yes, I think it's a very decent return of points. I'd forecast 2 draws and 1/2 wins, so between 5-8 points. But those games should have given DC and the team a real confidence boost. Their performances showed that we can compete with all the teams in this league, could have beaten Sheffield U, Scunthorpe and Bolton. I saw 3 matches but not all, but from reading accounts and listening to what people said, it would appear that we were the best team in 4 matches, about equal in 1 other (Bradford) and as poor as Port Vale in the only match we were disappointing in. Let's hope we can carry that into March and April and surprise us all again. UTG!

Looking at our February fixtures, we're playing all of the teams currently occupying the top 5 places. Will the doom and gloomers, be out saying the wheels have fallen off the wagon again, if we fail to get maximum points? That's a brutal set of fixtures. Port Vale away in between is not an easy game either. Will be a real test. I'd be happy with 2 wins. Would you have preferred two wins and four losses or six draws?π
