DC now has to earn his money, the squad is getting thinner for various reasons. Maybe our 'poor' form has been because of players being unhappy and have decided to return to there parent clubs so they can go somewhere they can play. Which team in their right mind would loan us players in the future knowing how DC rotates his squad. We now have to sit back and watch Darrell do the business, I for one am confident he can. He indicated in his interview after Charlton that he did not really want to get loans in and would prefer permanent signings. We are always better as a club with our backs against the wall, so hopefully we can replicate this on Saturday. UTG and keep the faith!!

DC said he wanted his players to prove they are at least top 6 players. That's what he's striving for ultimately. Imo we've only got one or two players who've consistently proved their worth so far. Quite a few are adequate for this division but adequate teams don't get promoted..... They finish about half way.

Whatever his faults I can't see DC letting nearly 3 years hard work evaporate before his eyes. He chose to stay with us because he saw a future here & he's part of it. He ain't gonna want to blow it.

We have to expect a few setbacks on our journey, but we are on the right path. We are in a society that expects everything perfect delivered yesterday. The boss will make mistakes, everybody does. If you employ someone who never makes a mistake sack him immediately as he/she is not working. We will get there.

i think its partly about getting players off the wage bill to make way for signings. the 6 loan players idea has been a disaster as none of them have been able to establish a place in the team and i reckon if he could he would ship roos and james out as well. i see no reason why clubs wouldnt loan us players again, they all got some league 1 experience though i find it funny when people on here get all worried about upsetting the likes of chelsea and swansea etc, they werent good enough so the manager didnt pick them often, good for him.

Am I the only one who thinks DC has been earning his money ? I'm delighted that we're mid table at the half way stage of our first season in league 1 in ages. The blokes worked miracles in a very short space of time. As for " the real test ahead " I think the last two and a half seasons have been a massive test and he's come through it with flying colours.

Well said. I'm a bit disappointed that Colkett has gone as I think he is good enough to play a part for the rest of the season, but I trust DC will bring in someone better on a perm deal. As for upsetting Chelsea and Swansea, I couldn't care less! If we take these players on loan and they aren't good enough, we'd be fools for playing them just to appease their parent clubs. In any case, Colkett got quite a few games for us so I should imagine Chelsea are fairly happy anyway. Important few weeks for us now on and off the pitch.

where will you find another manager with the guts DC got. We all need to back him up. Stop moaning and thinking you all know better. DC is manager so let him manage. Some of us think we are better placed to do his job and do not have a clue, UTG and the manager.

Why would a family who've built up a reputable, solid, respected banking business want to blow it on a minor English football club? Which is what Wael & others have said all along. Guess you weren't listening........

Ever considered the possibility they were only brought in to push his existing squad to their limits?

Surely they were brought in due to the lack of recruitment in the Summer I for one can see no other reason why.

Quite. What lengths does a manager have to go to prove himself? It's ridiculous - it seems some on here would only be happy if we got promoted for a third season in a row, which, incidentally has never been done in the history of English football outside purely lower non-league level!!!

Sums it up pretty accurately. Best post in this thread! UTG!
