Not sure a Linkedin profile supports anything, the fact nobody has reported seeing him at a Rovers match recently says a lot more? Plus if money is tight surely his wages are better spent on a CH/CM anyway? As regards the other poster saying there's no point saying we have money, the permanent signings since our promotion suggest DC's doesn't have a lot of cash to spend. Just wanted to point out that even if Will Dubey had left the club (which it seems has been confirmed that he hasn't) his wages being off the payroll would not necessarily give DC any more money to work with on the playing front because FFP which is what is limiting us only covers players wages.

DC doesn't seem to think FFP is the issue if he's claiming we only have a bottom 8 budget?

Certainly mixed messages on budgets...one minute he's thanking Board for their support and saying he has funds to add to the squad now, a few weeks later, his defense is that he has a bottom 8 budget...if he's spent upto the wages cap as Hamer suggested then it's hardly surprising there is no money. Surely DC knew this at start of transfer window and so why did he start building expectations about signings? He could well have funds to spend. Still could mean we have a bottom 8 budget. Or he could be saying it to put other clubs off hoofing their players transfer fees up thinking we've got a rich owner. If there's one thing I've learned about Darrell Clarke it's that he says what he wants people to hear not necessarily what's really going on. Just because DC says we've got a bottom 8 budget it doesn't mean we have.

Whilst it's nice to hear things from the manager, I wouldn't ever read to much into anything he says about transfers, or budgets and such like. If the way he deals with injuries is anything to go by, I think he would prefer not to mention it at all and just concentrate on talking about the football

Managers talk when they meet up.
Also, I have had hospitality at away grounds and other clubs Directors have always given me an indication of their wage roll when asked. How truthful they are, I cannot guarantee.
I spoke to the Managing Director of Sheff Utd and he gave me a figure which was a lot less than I imagined but when I relayed that to SH, he believed it was even lower.
Interesting to know what Sheff Utd's budget is this season. Last year it was an eye-watering £6 MILLION....... www.thestar.co.uk/sport/football/sheffield-united/sheffield-united-6million-blades-topped-league-one-wages-table-1-7925322

The £6m was the figure given to me by Sheff Utd managing director and I did explain I was a Gashead when I asked the question.
To be honest, I thought it may have been more but SH thought it was probably lower.
Just goes to prove that if you ask a simple question, even to the opposition Directors, there is a fair chance you will get an honest answer.
I am having hospitality at Bolton and will ask the same question of one of their Directors.

it is pretty mental to think of Sheffield utd having a £6m p.a. wage budget yet the likes of messi, ronaldo and co earn x 10 that a year individually....
not really sure what point I'm making here apart from highlighting that the world is mad....

The statement of a man who sounds pretty sick of every tiny bit of information being analysed to death. If another offer comes in for DC it might be harder to refuse as managing us is a pretty thankless task. Analysed to death? Any differently to any other manager at a medium sized club or bigger? Thankless? When we are successful it's great! These are the best times of DCs career and I don't think the Evil post and a handful of forumites will derail that. His interviews seem to be getting more agitated as time goes on. Surely we're successful now? Yet we signed a couple of loan players which apparently means there's no money, the stadium's dead and Wael is looking to sell.

Why doesn't DC just send MS or SY to face the press.

Why doesn't DC just send MS or SY to face the press. Because that would cause another meltdown.

If all managers seem to know one anothers budget you do wonder why so many transfer fees are undisclosed.
As for DC having a thankless task of managing us, wasn't he given a nice new contract in the summer?

See you all later at Newport, kick off 12 noon? NewportAttended the game, we lost 4-1 and had another chat with SH.
Apparently the BRFC AGM will take place in March, the finalised date will be confirmed in due course.
As has already been confirmed, contacts on the training ground will be completed/exchanged on 3rd February and BRSC anticipate that they will get the keys for the site on Monday 6th February.
I raised the question of Michael Cunnah. He was engaged on a Consultative basis to assist with the negotiations to buy UWE. He is still engaged by BRFC although his work appears to be completed. So, he is currently not needed in his original capacity although BRFC can call on his services in the future if required. So the previous info that he is no longer "employed" by us is correct but being a Consultant, he can be reengaged at any time.
Talking of AGM's, I believe that BRSC will shortly announce when their AGM will take place, it looks like some date in February.
Regarding the game, it was played on "bog of a pitch" much like Newport's ground. We were not very good and were 1-0 down within the first few minutes. Our defence were as good/poor as the first team on this occasion. Broom played plus a few trialists and to be honest none of them appear to be able to push any first team player on this performance.

Any UWE snippets worth sharing? Or was he guarded after his 20 pence going over?

Great news on the training ground. I haven't heard anything on this for a while so if that's true, that is very encouraging. Hopefully work will be underway soon. UTG!

So regarding the unwanted 6 when the transfer window closes does that mean that no matter what they just sit back a get paid? Will they train separately? i mean it wouldnt be good if they were training normally with the squad would it?
