cant believe some on here tonight, we have not spent 10 million on players and are losing home and away, just a few abject away performances, DC will get the away form right and some will have to eat humble pie!

It's full of hot air, some people seeming to want an argument, not listening to others opinions. This forum has taken steps backwards recently with the way some people use it unfortunately. Personal attacks and outright hostility. Hopefully things will improve and make it more readable and entertaining again, and stop the slippery slope that it is currently on .

Dunno why people get so wound up on here!
Would hope everyone has at least formed a rough idea of who to take with a pinch of salt, which posters constantly talk sh**e, the ones that love WUM'ing, and ones that just post to get a reaction etc etc. Or the ones that sound like they simply shouldn't have internet access
Shirley you know when you see who has made the post, that the post is likely gonna be a pile of sh**e and not worth arguing over. (ahem)

What if the other people are talking sense and you and your "mates" are talking sh**? Surely a forum is open to all opinions?

I'm not in any clique on here fyi. My post is aimed solely at the blatant WUMs who post to get a rise. The same people rise to it. All my opinion of course, they may not be WUMs to you. But then you do like to start threads about trains

For me, my frustration having got in this position is that we are not looking to push on and have a go at the top 6. This season is now feeling like a write off and yesterday's shocking defending just added to the frustrations. Also can we live in the present please, fed up with people saying "imagine where we could have been if we hadn't gone straight back up". The past is the past. I want us to move forwards, I don't want us to spend £10mil on players but would have liked to seen a few minor investments ala Partington.

There's still plenty of time for a few more investments.... I wonder if the whole cost side of things is a massive shock to DC? He's pretty much had the run of the mill with contract offers so far as most of the players have just been grateful for the loyalty shown to them by the club for getting promotions..
I guess DC is still learning - perhaps after this window he will see something that makes him understand where wages are in the rest of the football league. That said, is there still the March deadline for signing unattached players? If so then suspect DC to hold on to some more money for that as someone may well come available and I'm sure loads of fans would have massive head fits if DC came out and said we had no budget for this signing......

DC has said we are only bringing in 1 or 2 more this window. This season is a write off really as don't see us going down but we don't have enough to reach the playoffs.

We had to, at some point, consolidate. I still think that last year's promotion was a year too soon and slightly unexpected on most fronts....

Why even sign Partington if he's not ready to step into the first team over Broom? I really can't see where DC is taking us at the moment as there's no evolution just a despite struggle to get to the end of the season, but then what happens. Will DC be given the funds to bring in a dozen quality players or just more inexperienced players.

Surely they are different players Partington is a CB/RB & Broom is a winger/attacking RB so not sure you can compare. As for the season being a write off I don't see that at all. If we end the season in mid table with a clearer idea of whether some of our younger players ie Broom/Lucas have a future at this level then I'd class that as a success. Do I want us to push for play offs yes of course but not if that means paying way over the odds for players that weren't our 1st choices

Why is this season a write off just because we might stay where we are? Talk of expectations aside, it can still be seen as part of a bigger picture and future plans will inevitably start to emerge. I don't think we can write the season off totally yet, anyway. We're still in touch with the play off teams and the other lot's spectacular demise from a play-off slot to on the verge of the relegation zone shows that we can't afford to be complacent. It remains very interesting times, in my opinion. The thing that comes to my mind is that if DC had been told to keep us in a stable position for a couple of years before pushing on for a promotion challenge, that would surely increase the likelihood of DC leaving, as he is clearly an ambitious bloke - and rightly so with the amount of promotions he has on his CV. Either way, we may very well struggle to keep hold of DC this summer if there is not the promise of financial assistance to support a promotion push next season.

Can someone please explain how its encouraged to praise players and manager when doing well but are abruptly directed to BS3 if they criticise them when we are not doing well?
This is a forum, its place to discuss things like this. We travel is massive numbers away despite poor results. I dont hear any booing at matches so whats the problem discussing issues somewhere like this?
If they players are adversely affected by reading the forum then maybe they should take a new career path in a nice comfy office somewhere.
DC will realise he has taken us as far as he can, which is right as without a new stadium and proper financial backing, he has.

Forget the play offs mate, we're not strong enough for that. It would take a completely disastrous run of games for us to go down which I can't see happening hence why I think it's a mid table write off with a view to more activity in the summer.

I get what you say - I just don't consider it a write-off if we stay where we are. It seems such a negative term when it would actually, all told, be a decent achievement. I know it's only semantics........ Talking of write-offs. This side has been written off a few times over the last couple of years only to surprise. We could yet string some wins together and then it might be a different story. I think one of the biggest mistakes fans make is to look at a recent cross-section of results and think that the rest of the season will play out exactly like that. Football never turns out that way. We will lose at home and we will win away again this season! You are of course right that the most likely scenario is we stay where we are, but I'm not willing to bet my mortgage on it, as you seem to be
