A day after Burn's night, we sign Burn. Is it a special day today as could be a clue to our next signing? So what Aussie are we signing being Australia day and all?

Just over 6FT. Same height as Big Pete Hartley. I was hoping for a couple of more inches...oh well, never mind. Don't we all wish for that?

Happy with this one, wouldn't be so much if it's a loan, but we have a player who has the potential to be a Championship defender. The sustainable way to do it without throwing money at players. Would like to see a couple of older heads in the team now or in the summer with Championship experience.

Only seen the announcement on Twitter instead of reading the article yet? Did we pay a fee?

Its annoying that we get so little information,what was the fee? you would think a 2 year deal with him moving down here?

This sounds a good signing but my only worry is that with all these centre halves we will start playing 3-5-2 at home and away which does not bring the best out of Browner or the team in general.Would not be at all surprised to see this awfulo formation on Saturday with Sincs playing in the midfield with Lines and Ollie Clarke and wingers will be a thing of the past. Probably means as well that Bodin is injured but that aside I think this is a good signing and great to know it is a permanent one. Personally would like to see a flat back 4 of Partington,Burn,Sweeney and Brown but have my doubts.

Today is the saints day of Timothy and Titus. What's Titus Bramble up to these days? the ice skating season is still on so I guess it's the falling over role in Bambi on Ice or ruining David Pritchard's career? I sat in front of dear old Pritch at Walsall

But I think it would be a bit soon to throw those four together when you consider that one of them will have been here 2 days, another one just over a week, and another one just over two weeks. They would need a bit of time to gel imo. UTG!

Legend already! Burn began his career with the Sunderland academy before joining Middlesbrough in March 2013.[3] He joined League One side Oldham Athletic on loan in August 2015.[4] Burn made his professional debut on 9 August 2015 in a 1–1 draw away at Bristol City. He managed to score with his first touch from 42 yards out.[5] Can't find any evidence of that unfortunately. The link on wikipedia goes to here: www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/33744288His soccerbase says he's never played City: www.soccerbase.com/players/player.sd?player_id=86777&season_id=145This 40 yard goal against City isn't him: Obviously these are just facts, there may be 'alternative facts' that say differently.

He's a permanent signing, so will be related to DC's long term plans - maybe some of the other centre halves will only be with us until the end of the season, or less if he gets anybody out on loan?

Hope so. This is no criticism of the signings ,more I just don't want to see us playing that dreadful 3 at the back at home!

A nice post from an Oldham fan about the new lad and us;
"Johathan Burn signs for Bristol Rovers on permanent deal. What little I saw of him I liked. Going places the Gas I think...."
