How do people feel about us just buying a new defence, as Parts can play anywhere across the back 4. IMO it must be better than the mess we've had to put up with so far this season. I bet teflon Lockyer will keep his place though. To be fair to Locks I doubt we can start on Saturday with two new CB's and a goalie, particularly when conceding goals at home hasn't been as bad as away from home. Although the pressure is really now on Locks to cut out the errors, Brown seems teflon man as he still has no real competition at LB!! Seems a bit flippant and mean to me with this "teflon" slur,2 top players for us imo, brown for me has been very willing and effective going forward but has had his bad moments this season defensively and lockyer has had a torrid time just recently but hasnt been helped by the keeper issues and other centre-backs also struggling. Fans moan about no loyalty from players these days but fans more than make up for it by showing no loyalty to players having a difficult time of it.

Exciting times to be a gashead, when did we ever sign players like this in January, DC has brought in 2 permanent signings who evidently are hungry, will develop and must have leadership qualities as both were captains. I just hope Joe Lumley proves a good signing (or DC gets the permanent keeper he's after), then were really talking.
Don't get the negativity, looks like we could be in for a good end to the season and a bright future. Take a rain check on where we were 2 and a half years ago!

Well wed have to bring in 2 others then. Cos the rest of the team you wouldn't consider starting 11 for the future. I wouldn't be totally surprised if we lined up with a back 4 of Brown - Locks - J Clarke - Leads on Saturday. It's consistent with what DC has done before - brought in enforcements to the squad and then said to the existing players: 'Here's the competition. What are you going to do about it?'

Although Brown has looked more solid than TL this season, apart from the last few games. I reckon they could both do with a rest, but as you say, we're unlikely to start with 2 new CBs tomorrow.

Didn't that approach fail miserably last Saturday, when LC & Locks were to blame for the first two goals?

I would be surprised if we don't see either Partington(either CB or RB) or Sweeney start on Saturday, whether that means dropping TL or JC (or both) who knows. I think it would be too soon to throw Burn straight in. I do think Partington has been signed with the idea of him playing CB ideally and being backup for Leadbitter at RB as Leadbitter has probably been our best defender this year. I also don't think J.Clarke will be here next year. He is capable of just 'doing a job' at this level and nothing more really. Now that we have Partington as a direct replacement for him(in terms of him being able to play CB and RB) and assuming TL, JB and PH will be ahead of him in the pecking order, I just can't see a place for him, especially if we bring more defenders in in the Summer. UTG!

I would guess that Burn will not play tomorrow...he may be on the bench.Only just arrived so I would imagine DC wants him to understand his ways of doing things. I think maybe Sweeney will start...he has been here a bit longer and is due to get involved.Partington may be on the bench if Leadbitter is fit to play. The home team will remain much along the lines it has been for most home games. No need to tamper too much if games are being won.

Not denigsating anything the club has done or who they have signed but looking at the ages do you think we may be entering our first team for the under 23s league next season Raold Dahl has been making up words again!
