As far as the family walking away is concerned does anyone honestly think this is a possibility as Wael has always insisted this is a long term project. He's never to my knowledge said it's dependent on UWE, if it was then why not wait for that to play out before looking at a training ground ?

If it is true can only hope for good news, but I am not holding my breath on this one. Have been told that Mr AQ snr would consider pulling out of BRFC if UWE falls through. Know that could only be yet ANOTHER rumour, but it may be a worry. The rumour seems to be building from a meeting with UWE to the AQ family pulling out....I don't know what to believe, surely someone must know... I've gone from optimistic to a feeling it's all doomed in a couple of posts. Fact is no one on here knows! All of a sudden after the OP starts the thread several on here heard the same and come out and say so. And to cap it all we are even hearing that Waels father is not happy with the way he has dealt with the matter. I would suggest our Jordanian owners are far more astute businessmen than some on here would give credit for and to suggest it would be in the public domain about what father thinks about his son is laughable in my opinion.

As this was being discussed at a gathering I attended this morning, I don't suppose it will do any harm now in confirming something I heard about on Saturday. The defining meeting will be taking place this week between UWE and Al Qadis father, who flew in a few days ago. So, subject to the decision being made public, I guess we don't have to wait much longer to find out if we will ever get our much needed new stadium. Would love for this to be true, and willing to belive it coming from a frequent poster. don't want you to be another Henbury Gas 😉 Wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy.

I think we all need Toppers take on this before this thread proceeds ? Same rumour I'd heard but I was told it was main man at the UWE meeting Mr A-Ql not his side kick who'd apparently dealt with all the negotiations up to now, if true, this really makes a mockery of what SH was saying last week about talks progressing well, as clearly only nobody really knows which way this meeting one will go when we're apparently millions apart. I'd also heard Mr Al-Q wasn't too pleased how this had been handled by Wael and wanted it sorted one way or the other, as the other poster says if a reasonable deal can't be agreed he's likely to put the club up for sale hence why there's no Plan B. I guess the timing is interesting as the contract on the training ground isn't due to be exchanged until the 3 Feb....... I can't see us making any big signings now in January until this issue is resolved one way or the other, I just hope we can hold onto MT. utter bull sh** of the highest order

My take on it , IF Wael's dad is flying over for a meeting with UWE it's unlikely imo that he'd be coming over not to sign a deal. Maybe He is here to have some medical treatment....

I know some fans will have contacts at the club. How would their contacts know try his dad is unhappy with the way Wael has handled it??? That can only be thier opinion, unless they are in contact with him lol. A lot on here take people opinions as the truth. Selling if they don't get the deal, yet the same ones said we would refurbish the mem if it does not happen. So which is it??? They wanted Gillingham so I think they don't mind building over time lol.

So everyone in hospitality was told that Waels father is not happy about his handling of the UWE situation? By the way who was it that told everyone in hospitality? As it was quite obviously in the public domain, could you tell us who spilled the beans?

I liked the bit where WAQ turned out to be made of liquid metal and DC shot him in the face while speeding off down the Gloucester Road on his motorbike.

I wasn't referring to his father allegedly not being happy, I was referring to my post on here two or three in. Ian Holtby said over the microphone for all to hear that there had been three meetings with UWE in the previous week(I assume the week previous to the Swindon game) and that the brothers and their father were here but not Wael. My interpretation was that they had been present at the previous meetings ,but it could be that they are here for forthcoming meetings or both. As someone said earlier he would not come over not to sign anything, but I guess the worst case scenario he could be here with an ultimatum.

With video conferencing, emails, phone, etc I can't see why he would be coming over unless (1) he was anyway for other business/visit, (2) to officially announce the UWE cancellation or (hopefully) (3) to attend a press conference confirming contracts signed and in place.
