So everyone in hospitality was told that Waels father is not happy about his handling of the UWE situation? By the way who was it that told everyone in hospitality? As it was quite obviously in the public domain, could you tell us who spilled the beans? I wasn't referring to his father allegedly not being happy, I was referring to my post on here two or three in. Ian Holtby said over the microphone for all to hear that there had been three meetings with UWE in the previous week(I assume the week previous to the Swindon game) and that the brothers and their father were here but not Wael. My interpretation was that they had been present at the previous meetings ,but it could be that they are here for forthcoming meetings or both. As someone said earlier he would not come over not to sign anything, but I guess the worst case scenario he could be here with an ultimatum. They could have been here to attend some talks with uwe ,watch a game ,chat to the staff and see how things are going whilst potentially being present to sign papers for the training ground this week.....

Thanks for the update. With video conferencing, emails, phone, etc I can't see why he would be coming over unless (1) he was anyway for other business/visit, (2) to officially announce the UWE cancellation or (hopefully) (3) to attend a press conference confirming contracts signed and in place.(4) He's heard the restaurant Cosmo on Park Street is really good so popped over for a basket of tripple cooked curly fries. Can somebody please tell me what is so good about triple cooked chips? Couldn't they they it right first time?

Ian Holtby will be looking for a decent job in the new Stadium set up so would not think he would pass on info that the current regime wanted kept confidential. I would hope good news is on the way, after all if the brothers of Wael and his Father have been in attendance it would seem to me a deal could have well and truly been put together. I await a press conference around Thursday lunchtime, this week!

Couldn't they they it right first time? No idea mate. I'm just a dickhead with a cat who has tin foil on its head. This is just another one of those threads where gasicider tells us something, everyone slags him off and calls him all sorts, the thread then degenerates into complete bollocks for 2 weeks and then he turns out to have been right all along. I'm just cutting out the middle man.

Maybe someone should tell Mr Al Qadi Senior that he's meant to be cross with Wael and that he's planning on pulling the pin on ownership of the club. Because I think it's pretty likely he doesn't know this yet as he doesn't read otib.

Same rumour I'd heard but I was told it was main man at the UWE meeting Mr A-Ql not his side kick who'd apparently dealt with all the negotiations up to now, if true, this really makes a mockery of what SH was saying last week about talks progressing well, as clearly only nobody really knows which way this meeting one will go when we're apparently millions apart. I'd also heard Mr Al-Q wasn't too pleased how this had been handled by Wael and wanted it sorted one way or the other, as the other poster says if a reasonable deal can't be agreed he's likely to put the club up for sale hence why there's no Plan B. I guess the timing is interesting as the contract on the training ground isn't due to be exchanged until the 3 Feb....... I can't see us making any big signings now in January until this issue is resolved one way or the other, I just hope we can hold onto MT. What big signings are/were you expecting anyway? Lol, you made it to the end of toppers post!

After months of speculation, finally we have some real news about two major events vital to the short and long term future of our club.
1) Matty may or may not be leaving, but if he does it probably won't be to Bristol City, although it could.
2) The "new" owners are having another meeting with UWE. Probably.

you could well be right, it just seemed to me that it tied in with Gasinciders post, though he might have been in hospitality and is being discrete about who said it. Whilst I would never reveal a source, I can assure you I was not in hospitality. But it is accurate. Heard it now from two individuals whom I'm sure you all know and would believe. What do I make of it? Pure surmise, but as previously said, why would Al Qadis father fly in to say deal is off? He doesn't find it easy taking long haul flights, as he is not in the best of health. And SH also said they were frustratingly close to a deal. Waels dad didn't go to the game on Saturday even though he was here. But the reason is for another time and place, and is not a negative to our future. The best idea for believing it will happen, is that DC only stayed based on assurances he was given in the close season. As DC isn't thick, he will realise that there was uncertainty about the new stadium and will have wanted confirmation that it was going to happen, almost, no matter what. If we try to be negative, now is the time to call it all off, because if the UWE is not happening why would we proceed with the training ground? We couldn't afford to develop it without a new stadium, so we have until Friday to call that off as well. But again we wouldn't need Waels dad here to say that. oh. Just saw the previous post. No I'm not him, but I do know him. My gut feel? 50-50. Just don't know.
