Why is it incompetence SH was surprised he only got the bid after the game on Saturday, unless he has a crystal ball how would he know? Probably Pantsdwon left the bid so late so we couldn't add to the squad.
As far as DC we don't need him & SH wishing MT well etc in the media one will do. yu
With regards to the training ground is that definitely going ahead on Friday regardless of the outcome of this week's meeting with the UWE?

Let's be honest - The kick in the nuts is from him joining that mob from the other side - which was not needed, and was simply him being a disrespectful, greedy prick... Simple. As for the rest, our board couldn't control it given the release fee was met.So we move on.We have potential better players in our current squad than MT anyway. His BCFC you tube interview sums him and his attitude up completely - ps whats up with that freaking mole on his damm face! We have potentially better players in the squad?? Literally who? Harrison? (Lol) Gaffer's? (Lol) Bodins good but he ain't MT. I'd say at least - Lockyer,Leads and Bodin could be as good as Ma##y Ta#lor given time in regards to there respective positions.

Well well well mr Lansdowne must be jumping for joy. Taking away the Rovers talisman and too their arch enemy too...then watch the fans tear into the manager ,board, owner. He couldn't have hoped for more ! Congratulations on doing exactly what SL wanted....
The correct reaction is to get behind the club and be determined to shove this move up SL and ZERO boys backsides by doing even better and making the fans even more united.
So...want to help SL or Rovers...the choice is yours.

Would have thought so as our Chairman said we were completing the purchase on Friday, surely we would have already exchanged contracts and if we pull out now we are liable to have to pay the owners of the land suitable compensation for buggering them about. Hang on though were Rovers so the later is a strong possibility.

Two things bug me, the price we got, and not a planned out target just in case this happened, Bodin is a better finisher than Judas I believe but the way he cuts in from the wing is terrific. still best moment of the night Des Kelly who lives In Bristol I believe saying on talksport the 82 ers are the worst team in English football, made me drop my paint brush!

Ellis and Luke James also have untapped potential. Who knows how far any young player can go if he has the right attitude.

I've read all of this thread and there is some rhetoric towards Hamer and The AQs about a lack of understanding re our relationship with City etc.
Please can you all let this sink through...
WAQ and Hamer both have confirmed publically and in private messages to posters, myself included, that Taylor chose to go to City. Contractually are hands were tied once the release fee was met. We did not pick City's bid over another clubs. Taylor chose City.
For me, Taylor is the one lacking understanding of our relationship. But given that we haven't played them in a League fixture for 17 years, some of that bitter rivalry is lost on most. Had he played in a derby or 3, he may not been so keen to have gone. Look at what the goal meant to Lambert when he scored against them. Pretty sure he wouldn't have crossed the river then.
To vilify our own board in this is not correct. Taylor is the one who had his head turn to join the soulless franchise.
One key thing in all of this is why oh why was there such a small release fee or poor terms inserted into the contract. Massive school boy error in not putting the financial interests of the club first. That is where the real mistake has been made.

It's not like either player are new to senior football. If they were upto the task they would have been signed by a bigger club to rot in the reserves/loaned out like any other 'potential'

At the moment we can still walk away and owe nothing. But I am told the deal is going ahead, but we need to wait until next week to find out about the UWE although meetings will take place beforehand of course.

His agent then tells us if we want to keep him we have to accept a buy out clause for whatever the figure was. If we hadn't he would have gone for nowt at the start of the season. We had no control over it once his original contract expired. If there was any fault it was not making it another two year deal when we got back to the league. So it was the old regime that has to answer to this one, but even that is not totally fair. Remember, we didn't know if he was going to be a success in the league. Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

So on that premise the vendors can pull out before then. I sincerely hope any deal to purchase land from the UWE ensures an exchange of contracts some time before a completion date. If not knowing our luck that could go tits up if we take that cavalier approach.

That cuts both ways as we can still walk away as well this week if the UWE talks go badly, although it seems we're going ahead anyway. Although we haven't hung about exchanging contract anyway given pp was only recently obtained.

In that case I must inform you that the emergency loan window no longer exists I really don't understand how that one passed me by, although I do avoid sports (and news websites where I can) as a rule, sorry, please ignore that bit, young fit players are better because they are less likely to y'know... the Scottish Play and all that....
