What if this was the hypothetical situation? There's a recording of a the conversation between Lansdown and Taylors agent where the 300k is mentioned to Landsdown, leaving them right in it. City are deducted points (this being their second recent offence), they have to pay a massive fine and also have to pay full market value for Taylor (hence Darrell quoting the £10 million figure to the press). Taylor not allowed to play until it's all sorted. City get relegated and they help fund the UWE. Good work agent Taylor! Nurse, nurse!!! Where's my meds??? Hey nurse I need some affection - can I give you an injection?

If the release clause is supposed to be a secret what's the point in it being there!! There should be an inquiry into how such a car crash of a contract was ever drawn up in the first place!! Sack the board

In DCs interview he said he knows why only the one club came in for him but can't say too much about it. Could it be most clubs bought the 10M comment and didn't want to waste their time but Matty/agent did snake out and release the clause to City?

If there is I'm not sure how the 82ers will be able to explain how they managed to bid the exact figure, if there isn't then this all seems an NH type waste of time.

Even if nothing really comes out of it I think it's worth doing. The finger of blame is restless it's spinning around like a drunk because it knows there's a lady garden out there that needs to be fingered and I think in this instance it deserves the opportunity to seek it out

DC's £10m comments sort of make sense now if the minimum release clause was supposed to be confidential.
Also makes sense as to why nobody else came in for him too.

I think it's more likely that his agent let it be known to other clubs that MT wished to remain in Bristol, for whatever reason.

Agents communicating with clubs before an offer has been accepted for their player? Sounds dodgy to me Not sure about 'national press several times', stated in the Daily Mail but does every Championship manager take a peek in the DM's transfer gossip section? Nowt ever comes of this sort of thing anyway, so I think just let it go now. In my mind something underhand has gone on, but ah well.

That's clearly apparent from the article.

Ok everyone, make a list of all the people you don't like on here and send it me by PM and I'll have them gone by the afternoon. Actually I don't like me. Can you help me please? Anyway, as for why didn't anyone else bid. How about because this was all set up in the summer. It was agreed that Taylor stay until January, and prove he could cut it at this level. If he did (which he did) they would then take him if he kept the blackmail figure low, i.e. £300k. Not only that but to guarantee his salary level and term of contract, in the knowledge that they could then sell him if he doesn't come off for them, and still get more than their money back to Oxford or whoever. Taylor wouldn't care because he is now set up for life. Nobody else came in for him because his agent would have let clubs no there was no point in them pursuing it. Remember, he didn't gain one assist this season, probably because he needed to be the shining light, and ensure any glory stayed with him to up his sh*thead profile. In December They probably said don't worry now Judas, we will be in for you so start letting it go now. Hopefully, this has now come to light and we are about to make the accusation, sue the bast*rds and get them a points deduction. I just love this, because it puts more wood on the fire that tells me I hate them for all the right reasons. Then we announce the UWE. And for my next novel.................

This all seems very plausible until reference to assists. The Times indicates that C*** Taylor has one of the best records in the division for assists this season.

Perhaps Ian Holtby mentioned the £300k release clause in his regular hospitality news updates about the UWE and all things Rovers etc etc.

It puts Taylor in fourth place in the League One Top Assists with 8 assists! Not sure who to believe now.

If there is I'm not sure how the 82ers will be able to explain how they managed to bid the exact figure, if there isn't then this all seems an NH type waste of time. 'Currently under both the transfer rules established by FIFA and the Football Association followed by the clubs playing in England if another club wants to procure the services of a player that is registered with another club they must speak directly with that club and not to the player or his agent. The individual player and the agent who represents him will only be brought in for discussions with the potential purchasing club once the two clubs have agreed on a fee' So if there was any discussion between the sh*t and MT and or his agent (tapping up)and it can be proved a sanction would follow.'Following a high profile case in 2005 the sanctions imposed were the following: A fine and a suspended three point sentence for the club A fine for the manager A fine for the player A fine and a revocation of the licence for the agent'. www.inbrief.co.uk/football-law/football-player-under-contract-approach-clubs/In addition if a party to the contract broke a confidentiality clause (if one was inserted as it should have been in the contact) then the aggrieved club could pursue damages through the Courts for losses suffered as a consequence. I do hope there is concrete evidence if not then best just to let it pass.
