Great news. Better than any signing and a real show of intent from the owners. Confident that the uwe will come off as what's the point in a level 2 academy producing players to play at our shed!

Does anybody know why it's called the colony? Because that's just one of the "special bodily cleansing" treatments on offer to expunge all traces of faecal Matte(r). Alternatively it could be a new Category 2 initiation ritual.

I agree the next step has to be the stadium if we're going to keep progressing but as someone said on here the other day footballers spend 90% of their time training and only 10% playing so they want good facilities and this will help us attract better players and produce better players. Also if your injured do you want Physio in a metal container on the side of a field or in a top gym with top equipment. All these things matter massively to footballers. I also like our shed and of all the grounds I've been to in league 1 and league 2 we create a better atmosphere at the Mem other than anyone other than probably Pompey and that's a bit of a shed too only 8000 bigger. Edit .. I've just put the Wigan v sheff weds game on and the stadium is half empty and sounds like it's a friendly. I do want the UWE but I'm going to saviour every moment of the thatchers end until the day I leave for the last time UTG.

'The Colony' reflects that it is on the site of Colony Farm, which probably took it's name from the now long gone 'Hortham Idiot Colony' which was nearby.

[ I like the Mem too, but you can see why it's not an immediate selling point to potential players. However, it's a Mecca for the level of player we are currently attracting so maybe it is adequate!!

Because the land purchased was formerly Colony farm That colony farm was called because it served the hortham colony hospital for what was then called a mental hospital, not PC now I know but I can see the Ted's having yet another field day at our expense.

Don't worry about it. Half the city team live on the site of the old Ham green hospital which for many years was an isolation hospital for contagious diseases and in later years for geriatrics!

All seems very odd now!!

Why should we care what they think? Great news and a great name I think.

My Godfather was a Senior Nurse at Hortham Hospial - very sad place, a lot of the inmates were guys who suffered breakdowns during and after WW2 & of course there were many others who suffered mental illness from an early age. I used to go swimming with his family in the open air pool on site in the 60s, a real treat, but in reality it was a sad and scary place. Much changed now with the recent Hortham Village development and soon to be further enhanced by BRFC!

The rosy faced twat. you can tell, his aggressive marketing campaign, purchase of Taylor, welcome to Bristol, no one will be talking about rovers etc etc. If we get good news on the UWE I can see Landown getting even more comicially aggressive. And do you know the best thing of all, I know for a fact that if we match their facilities all the fickle fans of Bristol will all come to the gas. Haha

Landsdown is a Lady Garden.
I hope this is just the start of his nose being continually rubbed in sh**.
As Hugo says, he is a smug, rosy faced twat.
