I know what people mean about losing the atmosphere in the new stadiums but tbh Bournemouth with it's all seater is ok. The fans generate a lot of atmosphere because they are close to the pitch. They have a noisy popular end and nothing seems to have been lost. The fact it's always full helps I guess esp at 11,500 capacity. We will lose some of the atmosphere at the Mem because we've got to have at least 22000 capacity and we probably won't fill it in the early years so there will be gaps. But so long as it's made clear what ends are the popular end and make sure everyone knows what part of the ground is which i would have thought it should be ok and will get better. UTG!

What ! 5-The pasty was succulent, full of flavour. Fantastic. Come to Cornwall and see how a REAL pasty tastes (well, so long as it is one of Anne's on the Lizard !!) Worlds best! Our pasties have depreciated badly over the years sadly

This really is your pet topic isn't it... Any topic where I disagree with the points really. The atmosphere one just keeps raising its head, probably because fans like to think they are better than they really are. I can't do it all on my own! Do you join in mate? That's a general question btw, it's everyone's choice! The lack of stamina among the majority of singers is terrible and the fact a lot of people who contribute nothing stand behind the goal means those that do like a good song song are dispersed and songs start at different times. I would give Tuesday's atmosphere a 6.5/10

I'm afraid we will definitely lose some of that atmosphere when/if we move. It is synonymous with old grounds and you can't recreate it in the new style grounds. It's everything about the place. UTG Not true. In some cases maybe but not all. Can't believe people think the Mem creates an atmosphere? If everyone who thinks that sat in the south stand for a match, they'd realise that you can barely hear the North terrace. Also, our fans are lousy at creating an atmosphere. A bit like old Trafford last night. Man U fans are lousy whilst 3500 st Etienne made a racket all evening in a crowd of 70k. Name a team in the bottom two divisions that create a better atmosphere than the Gas ? Taking into account the size of crowds as well . I can't think of any ..... And I've been to nearly every ground watching the gas in the bottom two leagues .

The thing is, many clubs can turn the volume up but 'creating an atmosphere' is like what Palace and Man U away fans do.

We are on about atmospheres created by the home fans I take it ?

I think it'd improve the feel and atmosphere of the UWE if we could incorporate something like this into it:

That's it I'm getting by drum out.... The key to creating an atmosphere is to have new songs/chants that are not heard anywhere else. Then you need about 10 mates who are all familiar with the new material and plonk yourselves into the middle of the Thatchers and off you go. Others will soon get drawn in by the fresh songs. We used to find that the new stuff originated largely on away days. Just as an example the thread earlier this week was about Mehewmajic's article, "everyone needs a beard", which reminded me about the 1997 song "brim full of asha" from Cornershop. It contained the line "everyone needs a bosom for a pillow" and I ended up putting Rovers related lyrics to that song with the chorus being about the Beards super human qualities still playing aged 65.
Beard keeps on playing 'til he's 35 Beard keeps on playing 'til he's 45 Beard keeps on playing 'til he's 55 Beard keeps on playing 'til he's 65

I like that Dragonfly, and yeah I agree with your points! Sadly myself and mates I go with often work Saturdays or play themselves. I'd love it if some people took it upon themselves to get more organised, I do recall the 'No quarter given' guys that 79 mentioned, shame that didn't last too long.

Gonna need a high roof to fit that one in the UWE stad. When the beard hangs up his boots he can go be the resident pirate on the ship...just give him a parrot and eyepatch/ pegleg
