I think we would be watching AFC Rovers on the downs What makes you say that Henbury? A deflection thread from the Rovers sue Sainsburys, because only last week Henbury told us the club were going ahead with pre commencement activity.

What makes you say that Henbury? because i think all our "Fan/directors" who have put £10m into the club as loans would have got out long before now Loans to cover their own operational losses. The only they could have got out was to have sold the mem and put the football club into administration. Liar as an adjective would hardly be worthy in that scenario, would it.

So you buy into a club, put money in then run it poorly. Then, rather than lose that money you convert it into shares and wait for someone to buy you out post planning permission. So in effect you put nothing in at all really other than working capital to fund day to day stuff which you intend to get back. Where it goes wrong is not getting the planned building bought. Have I got that right?

So Les, with your knowledge of business matters, was Nick in error by putting the Mem up for auction to the highest bidder at the start of this process god knows how many years ago ?? Would he have been better to leave as is and carry on ? try and not put your hindsight hat on

Is all this talk on here today re the new stadium just "Paper talk" or is it for real. There has been no official story or statement from the club yet

This is quite simply disaster "Rubber Stamped".
UWE is key to our whole future, we won't disappear, cause there will always be a Bristol Rovers.
But, sorry if this upsets anyone, i've had these terrible niggling doubts about all this and my honest/sad opinion is: We chose to hold hands with the Devil and we've ended up in Hell.
We thought we had tough times ahead, they've just got an awful lot tougher.

To quote The Jam, "Times were so tough, but not as tough as they are now,"

I always felt the UWE project was beyond us, as they say if something is too good to be true it usually is, why didn't we just develop the Mem with a new centenary stand etc?
To suggest we needed the UWE for Championship football is madness when we've spent most of our time in the lower leagues. NH has turned Rovers from an established solvent Div 1 club into a bankrupt non league club, but the OP can't see that for some reason.

We owe £7m odd to the board in loans so they wont put us into administration. I could see them selling the mem to the highest bidder.

I think its a folly to suggest tryin to build UWE was wrong. It was an ambitious plan but it looked workable. I dont understand the legal agreement that bans us from mentioning if UWE want to pull out ?

UWE have full Planning consent to build the Stadia, i would imagine with it being their land they will themselves have a few get-out clauses, including finding another partner (Duke of Guernsey i hear you cry, well i hope not but stranger things happen, and he's a clever sod)i'm thinking maybe South Glos. Council who are a very well run council with their finances in very good order unlike most councils in England, plus Sporting/Education grants would step in and just maybe we will pay rent to use it ala Coventry. or joint Ownership?
