He has to be worth spending the money from taylor(£300,000) on him? You've only got to watch him and he's a natural goal scorer with free kicks in his locker...his movement is second to none and his stats are all there to be seen..I know he's non league but we all know that doesn't mean anything these days...

Bradley dack would be a good signing too for our midfield, I was impressed with him at the mem...

Good goals there. He seems to be quite a selfish player.
I don't recall the marking and general defensive play as being so poor when we were in that league, I reckon The Snake should have scored 40.
Effin useless. The 5hit are welcome to him!

Good Player. Dissapointed he didn't want to come on deadline day. Yeah it was kind of short notice, but his reason was he wanted to weigh up his options. Wouldn't be surprised to see him go elsewhere. Great if we can get him and one other early in the summer.

Didn't the 5hit try and sign Dack last year? I seem to remember £1 m plus being mentioned. Not the sort of money we would spend at this stage of our evolution.
I expect he will go to a Championship club next season.

Why spend £300k on a player who is out of contract in the summer? Even if he was under contract, I wouldn't say signing a 28 year old no league striker unproven in the league was worth the £300k gamble. On a free however, he seems a bit of a no brainer, as long as the wages are reasonable. I rated him in the conference for Dover against us and would like to see him here at the right price.

Why bring this up again at this time? Let's get this season done and dusted and leave it to our Manager to sort out who is staying and coming. UTG!

All I meant is if it took £300,000 we should be looking at it! If partington in worth £100,000 miller must be worth 3 times that and that's all We couldn't afford division 1 strikers,if a player in division 2 is proven we can all see we still couldn't afford them..roofe/bogle etc So non league on our current budget is a must for permanent signing rather than loan signings which is never great for a consistent push for promotion...if we could get him on a free I'm sure his signing on fee would be a lot of money anyway

Not for me. Non league journeyman who's 28 in march. There's a reason why he hasn't made it already and would suggest there's not much improvement left in him. Also he doesn't look the quickest so will he get the space like he does in the conference? Of course he looks a good finisher and goals tally speaks for itself but I'd hope there are better options.

He's scored about 25 goals in the last two and a half years from midfield and he's still only 23. Would be a great signing but unfortunately I think he's destined for bigger things and we can't compete with championship spending. UTG!

Was there ever actually confirmation of this or is it a bit of guesswork on your part. Also, does anyone have any idea if we did actually pay a fee for Burn? (and if so how much?) I know it's just the modern game but I do get frustrated when we don't get to find out transfer fees. Not for the same reason as some who want us to spend a fortune on players all the time. I would love to find out we got Burn on a free and only paid about £20k for Partington. UTG!

We paid at least 80k for Partington as Eastleigh announced it as their record transfer which I believe was 80k before, I'm sure someone will confirm? I agree with you that it is frustrating not knowing the actual fees involved? Especially with what happened with sh** snake!

In the Scunny preview DC said he's made half a million on transfers, so the maths could be done if someone had the time!

I really don't care about the "size" of the fee!! Are they good enough? Surely that's all that matters.

In the Scunny preview DC said he's made half a million on transfers, so the maths could be done if someone had the time! Am I right in thinking the only people we've got fees for in DC's reign are Snake, Smudge and Santos??(compensation). And the people we've paid fees for are Bliss, Gaffers, Partington and Burn. So if we got £300k for old Snakey, the formula would be something along the lines of: (Smudge & Santos) - (Bliss, Gaffers, Partington & Burn) = £200k
