I believe today was Lee Brown's 250th league appearance for Rovers and it was rather fittingly at the ground he made his Gas debut less than 6 years ago.
What a man!
Averaging about 48 lge and cup games a season for us so far.
21 goals.
And a certain penalty at Wembley.

Yes we heard you on GasPlayer (via Keith Brookman).
Hope you're right but either way it's a fantastic achievement in an age when players chop and change club so often.
Go on Browner!!!!!

Not a massive fan but looked solid today. Which left back in recent history do you rate over Brown out of interest? I think at this level he is spot on.

Browner has been and still is a solid reliable left back, a club legend; although, for me Vaughan Jones was a tremendous leader, captain and the best left back in the clubs recent era.

Jones was the best left back I've seen in my time following the Gas, but at pushing 25 years since he last played for us, does that qualify as recent history? Brown's been an important and sturdy cog in what we have achieved in the last couple of years.

Vaughan Jones- had to do a double take. When he played for us the premier league was in its first season and browner was three.
Says a lot if that's how far we have to go back in history to find a competitor - browner is fantastic.

Vaughan Jones and Neil Slatter Agree - both. Slater went on to Oxford who were in the top flight I seem to remember. Did he become a Policeman after injury shortened his career? Browner - brilliant player and consistent week in, week out. I wish he would get more of the free kicks from positions in range, recon he would eclipse Mr Lines.

I believe Neil did join the police and think Andy Reece did as well from a similar era. I remember Neil being a proper Wales international whilst with us.

Ah yes, Vaughan Jones. The best we've had for 35 years.
Neil(for f**k's sake tackle) Slatter. Underrated by many and perceived to be tackle shy. Aaron (flipper feet) Lescott. How did he run with those feet?
And I believe Brian (the tank) Williams deserves a mention. Solid, hard and not to be messed with.

Good on him. Top pro. Stayed with us when we went Conference, always glad when he's in the starting 11.
