I think we can all agree he's been bloody brilliant this season.
What do we reckon are the chances of signing him on and what the fee would be?
Personally I would be happy to pay up to £250k as he has potential to be our number one for years to come.

Think he has to be the priority in the summer, we all know how long it can take to find a good keeper.
I'd want him permanently too, rather than another Andersen type situation

The Holloway factor could reduce the price. Think we have a much better chance of getting him than Sweeney. Hopefully we can get Sweeney back on loan.

Personally I would be happy to pay up to £250k as he has potential to be our number one for years to come. That would be a bargain price and we should grab his hands off. Darrell is prudent though and I will expect would want to see if he can get someone on a free who can do a similar job. Thing is, will he be able to sign someone as young and with as much potential as Joe? Joe has been moulded into the Rovers spirit and ethos and hopefully has blue blood running through already. Him and Sweeney are the blueprint of players we need to sign to step up to the championship and be punching above our weight to make it to the ultimate level. Remarkable that he made an error yesterday yet we're all passed it already and still begging to sign the kid! Goes to show what an impact he has made!

Wael told us at the open training session that QPR aren't prepared to sell him so the best we can hope for is a season long loan

And if they did then I suspect they would be looking for more than £250k. What is important is that the situation is sorted out as soon as possible as I would hate us to go into pre-season training with us not knowing whose our first choice keeper but I can see this happening based on past form.

I think we will get Lumley on a season long loan.

If we cant get Lumley in then Stuart Ripleys son Connor has been getting massive praise at Oldham this season, if he decides to come down south for once.

If QPR won't sell surely there's a similar quality keeper we can sign on a permanent deal, as need a goalie for a few seasons not just Lumley for one more year. Etheridge at Walsall must be worth a phone call?

Why not we're a different club now under DC than we were under MM, surely playing in front of 9,000 fans aiming for the Championship is preferably to 5,000 at Walsall who seem content with Div 1 life. If not, they must be other similar players around?

Think we over-egg ourselves a bit, until a stadium is on the way we're no better in the eyes of neutrals than Walsall etc. Not easy to find a keeper. Swindon spent £400k on that Vigoroux, who dropped two in his own net yesterday as they got relegated to the basement.

If they do how much have they got and do we really want to spend it on a goalie the likes of Etheridge are available on a free when. we desperately need a goalscorer. I can't honestly see us splashing out £250K on Lumley then a similar amount on a striker?

This league can be bought if you want it enough, just look at the top teams. This season was a good chance of hitting the Championship, we had momentum and this is a pretty poor league one compared to what it will be like next season. Sheff Utd have ran away with it and Rochdale might get into the play offs.... Rochdale FFS. Snake left us late, caught us on the back foot with no contingency plan and we have paid for it. Some fans say we have got the same points ratio after he went than when he was here, but does anyone honestly believe he wouldnt have got the points to have already secured a play off place? Any last minute panic buy in January would have surely done better than James' efforts.

In in other words why will it be harder next season? I'd love to know. Are Rotherham and Wigan better than them? Are Doncaster, Plymouth and Portsmouth better than them? Lets wait and see.

I never understand why so many people think that the Al-qadis are going to spend a fortune on players, be it £100k or 1 million. They've never promised this. In fact they made a point of mentioning evolution, not revolution.
Despite pledging to back DC in the transfer market, Darrell Clarke has never been a manager to spend much money on players either with Salisbury City or us.
In the modern transfer market, you don't need to throw lots of money around to get really good quality players, you just need to find ones who are out of contract.
Darrell himself said in the last window, that he would be patient in getting the right players in; which I took to mean that the ones he was after, would be out of contract in the next transfer window.
I would prefer this policy to Mr Lansdown's.

This lad cant score one sodding goal, doesnt even look like scoring one sodding goal. What makes you think finding better would be difficult?
