Cardiff's Rhys Healey contract ends June worth a punt even though he's out injured Unlikely to be fit for pre-season and I doubt Cardiff will be releasing him anyway.

Sean Maguire Cork city in Ireland, leading striker in Irish football, wouldnt break the bank, a lot of interest from England recently, preston seem interested, would be a great signing.. Yes, certainly well worth looking at but he's under contract so would involve a fee. Yes he is, but he has a buy out clause of 150k. 11 goals from 14 appearences already this season and season only started in late March..

I have mates who are Cardiff fans and they have had about the same luck with keepers as we have over the last couple of years. Lots of moaning from them about their keepers costing them points this year, ring any bells? Hopefully we can get Joanna on a seasons loan if not DC needs to start looking now as we don't want to be in the sh** again next year with the same old problem of trying to get a keeper last minute.

I'd drop Keith Brookman an email and he'll pass it on, staff might not know about the buy-out clause.

On the topic of if Partington and Burns were good enough wouldn't they have already forced their way into the side, don't forget sometimes it takes players some time to find their feet in a new side, and perhaps having had several months now plus a whole pre-season they can kick on, perhaps even the same could be said for some of the players who were signed last summer. Take into account the fans getting on your back a bit if you don't get off to a great start then the season can become a long one, so hopefully the summer can refresh some of those players and give them a clean slate to kick on from.

Luke James just proves that settling in doesn't matter if you are just not good enough

I don't like using the word crap towards professional footballers, but yes crap
Looking at his goals for Hartlepool when he first burst onto the scene you wonder what has happened to him since then? He must have a bout of Derek Riordanitis.

Confidence/pressure? Who knows one goal and he may have been a different player for us, look at Gaffers form recently compare to his form earlier in the year as a good example.
Comparing a trier like LJ to a waster like DR is just nonsense.

I wasn't comparing them like-for-like just that (so far in LJ's case) they have only shown quality at the start of their careers.
James has played over 80 games since he first left Hartlepool and scored 2. As a forward that's a shocking stat.
Gaffers had had his spells of not scoring but nowhere near as bad as James. Even Lee Brown would be disappointed with 2 in 80 strike rate. I'd like to think he would kick-on from his next goal but I don't think its that simple.
