I think the Wigan big-wigs are going to mullet over for now.
Personally I don't think Clarke will make the braid..

I think Nicky Clarke would have no problem managing us. He would be great with the fringes players.

In order to trim the squad it will be curtains to some of the underperforming players I think, unless they step up to the plait in the final game.
The new manager would have to allow new players the time to gel but im sure when they do they will go on a hot streak and blow league one away.

I think Nicky Clarke would have no problem managing us. He would be great with the fringes players. You'd better believe it - he'll have them cutting in from the byline and spraying over a cross for a scissor-kick finish (a bit like David Plait against Belgium in Italia 90)

Going to Wigan would be a sideways step, if he leaves us it'll be for a huge Championship club like C*ty Please don't. It's Friday and I'm happy and I don't even want to entertain the idea !

Steve Clarke is like Paul Trollope, great coach, poor manager. The poor manager who guided us to promotion, a two legged win over City, JPT final and an FA Cup Quarter finals. #nonsense

I work with a few Cardiff fans and you have just made most of them spit their coffee out by suggesting PT is not a poor manager.

He's also a very good and successful coach, which is probably more suited to his skills. Plenty of our fans would have spit their coffee out if you had suggested DC was a good manager after his first 12 games here. Discounting his achievements here, as so many strangely and disrespectfully do, is totally unfair.

Next time Paul Trollope gets a managers job he will be in the last chance salon.

I did say on my original post that he is a good post, just a poor manager imo.
One decent season with us doesn't make him a good manager, Buckle had a decent season with Torquay on a shoe-string budget.
We can agree to disagree about his value as a manager.

None other than the redoubtable Lenny Lawrence. When he was fired PT floundered hopelessly and left us in a relegation position. You can trace our years of struggle back to PT's solo effort. He isn't a manager.

Prior to PT's final season, the budget was cut drastically which clearly had a disastrous effect on the club. Clearly regrettable decisions were made in terms of recruitment but that doesn't take away his achievements.
