I remember saying on the forum in the summer that he wouldn't even come into my top 10 Rovers strikers, now he doesn't even come into the top 100. This is what I mean; people just didn't like him. As of the summer he'd scored 45 in 91 - a phenomenal record and one of, if not the best of any striker in the past 20 or 30 years. Anyone else banging them in at that rate would have been hero worshiped. People didn't like him? Nonsense. He was loved prior to his move in January, despite messing us around last summer.

Seems posters on here are contradicting themselves as on the one hand they are saying he should have waited until the summer as he would have had the pick of any Championship side but on the other he's not good enough for C1ty. Let's face facts he was a proven Div 1 goalscorer so the next level was the Championship, as far as the likes of Hayles and co I doubt many of them would even get a chance in the Premiership now so their own level would have also been the Championship. It was all underhand but C1ty got a potentially decent Championship striker for a bargain price. A bit like P'boro seem to have done getting Miller.
Not really as if he stayed here then we still wouldn't know if he was good enough for the Championship.
Strange how John Marquis is attracting interest from Championship clubs after scoring a 26 in League 2, yet even after proving himself in L1 Taylor had only one bid.
Well it would be strange if it wasn't obvious Taylor and his agent instigated a move to the teds and blabbed the release clause.

Spot on. Also willing to take up wiaww on his offer of putting money on the snake starting their first game next season! Fiver to the FFS? Unless you're prepared to offer me a price... Sounds good mate, was going to suggest something similar!

I know he is on lot more money now but for the sake of a few months he probably could have had his pick of some decent Championship sides in the summer if he stayed, plus a possible promotion push. The power of the dolla I guess.... Yes it was a short term decision with a 'coach' at Sh*ty playing the spy part - and he got promoted as a reward' Worth pointing out to Snake hips that he could be earning a lot lot more now with a much better club- silly boy

I am guessing the suggestion is that...Rovers would have made the playoffs based on him averaging a goal every other game. Promotion or not a player who scores 25 goals plus in league one will get interest from clubs higher up the pyramid. A club which has actually won REAL CUPS or TOP FLIGHT titles in the past may have come in from the championship...like Blackburn Rovers , Wolverhampton wanderers ,Ipswich town ,Nottingham forest , Derby county ,Birmingham city , Cardiff city , Huddersfield town , Leeds united ,Preston north end ,QPR, Sheffield Wednesday, Aston Villa , Newcastle united, Norwich city. Or even a championship club that has even played premier league football like Reading ,Barnsley ,Wigan athletic,Fulham and the new boys Brighton and hove albion.
leaving Rotherham united ,Burton Albion ,Brentford and Bristol city as the only small fry clubs who have won nothing and have not been premier league.

The power of the dolla I guess.... Especially with all his bullshit about leaving through the front door. If it's true that he's moved back to Oxford as it's not worth the hassle living in Bristol than surely a few months wait would have been the far better option?

I reason somewhere he'd gone to Oxford but really not sure where. Probably the awful FB page.
