Reading on the web that we are showing interest in Alex Lacy who is out of contract at Yeovil - still only 23 and is a tallish central defender with good experience for his age and quite well regarded at Yeovil I understand. Would not break the bank in terms of wages.

Looks like Coventry are front-runners but really hope we take a good look as he can play left-side of a central two and I think could partner Lockyer well .

Can't imagine Coventry would be anyone's first choice for anything other than when nominating a shithole.

And even then it would loose out to Ashton Gate.

I think one or two injuries have played their part, plus he was attached to a Prem club from '06 to '14. I don't know what options he has, but might be worth a trial in pre-season to assess him with a view to a longer deal. Edit: plus 31 apps at international level.

How about David Wheeler from Exeter? Right footed winger who scored 17 league goals this year. Imagine him on one side and BBB on the other. You could possibly expect 25 goals a season between them.
Or on a less positive note, possibly BBB's replacement should we get an offer we couldn't turn down. UTG!

Not interested in Division Four players or Non-League, got enough of them already! So, if a Hayles or Ellington type player became available you wouldn't want them because they are non-league? Personally I couldn't care less where they come from if they have quality.

I'd rather we start tinking like Fulham / Wigan that bought Hayles or Ellington from us - both of which have had stints in the prem.

Is that the thinking you're on about? In all seriousness though, it really shouldn't matter where the players come from if they are good enough. Dwight Gayle, Glenn Murray and Scott Hogan were three of the best strikers in the Championship this season - all former non-league. We all know about Vardy and Austin, England internationals and both former non-leaguers too. I forgot about Wigan , signing Omar Bogle for a decent fee. Personally I'd rather have signed him from Solihull before his value went up.
