Jay O'Shea has left Sheffield United - might be the sort of player for DC - although I'm sure he'll know about it if he's interested. Strange that he has turned down a two year deal at Sheffield United. Rumour has it he has a move to Wigan lined up if Paul Cook gets the job.

The article also says Harrison signed a new contract last week All I could find in the article was that Ellis 'has yet to sign a new contract.' It mentions that Gaffers signed last week.

I think bb is right. City have usually had the Scottish players and we usually tapped into the Welsh player market. That's how I remember it as a kid in the eighties and early nineties anyway. stan montgomery played 230 games for cardiff city and played cricket for glamorgan was the man who ran the bristol rovers welsh nursery which produced so many fantastic players for us in the 70"s . city brought many players down from scotland like gerry sweeney who helped out my old club backwell utd by taking us training in the 1980"s and what a great guy he was, training was as painful and yet enjoyable as can be imagined. With stan i wish he was remembered more because the great decade for rovers that the 70"s was is in many ways down to him imo.

Read the post again instead of skimming it Im still not getting it,i must fick or something! Neither am I, but where's the survey results anyway as who'd seriously suggest Tammy Tapin should be a target? It sounds like the article writer has just picked every name mentioned on the forum in recent weeks. I thought the BP couldn't get any worse but it's becoming virtually unreadable lately.

The survey was published on the Post website so I imagine a few city fans might have answered. I'm surprised you are finding the Rovers articles bad, I have generally found them to be getting better since the last journalist left and they brought a new one in.

Why would he take a pay cut to come here though? So tell us how much Doide's earning at FGR then your comment might be more plausible.

Yes, Montgomery did very well for us back then, see from WiKI he died in 2000 at the age of 80 (RIP)

I wouldn't know i'm not his agent he was with Rovers as a youth but was released TBH think the gas will be linked with anyone and everyone I'm sure DC will have it covered still a few weeks till the official transfer window opens and i'm sure DC will surprise us. The time to worry is if he hasn't signed anyone decent come the close of the transfer window

Come on DC "whoever snoozes looses," as the saying goes and if we haven't got ten in by Saturday it will be a meltdown on here of graphic proportions!

Well it was tongue in cheek so maybe i should have put a smiley face on the post although everyone knows forest green have a good budget relative to the level they were at. The real issue with signing a 24 year old player who scored 25 goals last season is that he will cost a lot of money. In a recent interview dc mentioned trying to sign the next 20 goal striker rather than the players that have just done such a thing for obvious reasons. Is there any possibility of us signing a striker that scored more than 20 goals last season at any league club?

Who ever we sign there's always going to be critics but I think the majority would welcome Doidge as a good signing but he would be stepping up 2 divisions, least the snake had the chance to prove himself in league 2 and besides anyone is better than Luke James
