Well it was tongue in cheek so maybe i should have put a smiley face on the post although everyone knows forest green have a good budget relative to the level they were at. The real issue with signing a 24 year old player who scored 25 goals last season is that he will cost a lot of money. In a recent interview dc mentioned trying to sign the next 20 goal striker rather than the players that have just done such a thing for obvious reasons. Is there any possibility of us signing a striker that scored more than 20 goals last season at any league club? Who ever we sign there's always going to be critics but I think the majority would welcome Doidge as a good signing but he would be stepping up 2 divisions, least the snake had the chance to prove himself in league 2 and besides anyone is better than Luke James We cant afford him though

If we can't afford a player like Doidge at this level from the local village team as they like to claim how can you expect the gas to win promotion and be competitive in the championship the following season. I'm afraid it's time to splash to the cash. To many doubters not enough believers

Im hoping rovers pay more in salary and pick up a couple of good released championship players but wouldnt complain if they spent serious money on someone like doidge though i have never seen him play. The transfer window closes at the end of august and by then we will have an idea of the playing budget depending on who is brought in. Im a doubter about next season as ive already stated on threads i created and posted on but i really hope we have another good season in 2017-18.

I see Mark Hughes, Stoke manager, said yesterday he is in the market for a proven Centre Half. Maybe a bid for the big boy would be in order ?
