Why should there be a press release/interview following a budget meeting? Whilst I am no expert, I am fairly sure these budget meetings will happen at every club at the end of every season in preparation for the next. Have we had press releases/interviews after these meetings in previous years? Not that I can remember. Have other clubs done similar? Not that I have seen. It just so happens that this year, DC has mentioned where and when it will take a place so some people seem to be getting hung up on it. Exactly! Very few clubs have ever announced their playing budget and of those that have, I suspect most have regretted it. Just be patient, folks!

Public knowledge of our budget would not be sensible. At all.

All this talk of training grounds and the Mem pitch, budgets etc etc is not the real issue as far as I'm concerned. I cannot be the only Rovers supporter who is on tenderhooks wondering how good will Pippa's wedding dress look. Cue images of that bridesmaids dress from the rear Phwooar

DC has emailed me a copy of this seasons budget meeting minutes, I have only had a very quick glance at it but here are a few highlights for you.
BRFC Budget Meeting 2017/18
Item 4: a) At what level should the budget be set for the coming season?
Responses: SH - We should definitely have one that competes in the upper region of the league. WAQ - Agreed, I can't begin to imagine the fallout on gaschat if it's not at least 20-30% over what we can actually afford. DC - Well... this is a bit of a shock, I was expecting to have to beg, borrow and steal every single penny like I did when bloody Higgs was running the show WAQ - So, what are we thinking... £20-£30 per game for half time tea/squash and biscuits? DC - That would be amazing, Capt Gas should be able to get some of those mint Club biscuits from the cash and carry with that kind of cash. SH - Woah, woah, woah... you can't be giving the players Club biscuits at half time... they'll want effing Jaffa Cakes next... where will it end?
Item 8: f) Playing Budget.
Responses: SH - We should definitely have one that enables us to competes in the upper region of the league. DC - That would be brilliant, really show the fans our ambition and desire. WAQ - Well, I was thinking of something around the top 8 level of spending... DC - How much is that? WAQ - Stevie... what's all the other chairmen said they're going to spend? SH - They haven't Boss... WAQ - WHAT!! How the hell can we come out in social media and tell the fans we have a budget in the top whatever of this league, if no-one is letting on what they're gonna spend!?! DC - It's like that every year Boss... WAQ - FFS... Get that MP... you know Leslie something or other... SH - Oh yeah, knocking round the club looking for votes a while back before we got here... WAQ - yeah, yeah.... Leslie... DC - do you mean Charlotte Leslie Boss? WAQ - yeah... that's the one... get her on it at PMQ's... bloody outrageous!!
Not allowed to post anymore... but I think you get the jist

Surprised nothing has been made public from the latest catch up the board have had. I would have thought if anything in term of progress with Stadium\Training Ground or if a Budget that everyone was happy with had been covered, we would have heard about it by now. As with anything, people don't hesitate to announce good news, only stay quiet if it is bad or have nothing at all to say. Can only assume progress isn't being made at the speed everyone would like it to be. Hopefully I am wrong and the club will make an announcement/statement of intent soon. I'm not the slightest bit surprised - Steve Manuel Hamer must be the most un- communicative Chairman in the Club's History. Perhaps after ribbing he got after his landing lights comments he's decided to keep quiet. Not sure what fans expect, were not going to get a UWE announcement until it's agreed or abandoned, the training ground could be linked to that but the plans are going to be made public until they've been submitted to S Glos. If fans expect an announcement about the wage budget then they are living in cloud cuckoo land.

I don't think anyone would realistically expect the club to issue a statement about wage/transfer budgets. It would not be unreasonable to expect a statement however short about The Colony, unless as some (rightly or wrongly) see a linkage to a successful UWE negotiation. It was SH if I recall who said that the team would be moving into the training facility this June - that is clearly not going to happen. He felt able to tell a gathering at WSM FC's AGM that the team would be moving in during June 2018 why has he not felt the need to issue a club statement to the wider fan base that the original timescales have slipped - or is it not important? The club tell us they are cleaning the carpets and fitting new curtains - frankly I don't give a toss about that. Regarding UWE I can understand why there is a totally shut down on information if they are governed by a Non Disclosure Agreement (NDA).

gasincider - the architect of mis-information and panic - should be renamed Mr Mannering No progress on training ground- fact no progress on Mem pitch on start date- fact Not sure about budget- no facts stated just an opinion. Where is the misinformation or panic? Hows that Pike. That's a rather expensive galvanised fence that has been erected half way around the new training ground. 😉

I'm going down to aldi in a minute....
while I'm there I'm gonna tell the manager he needs 2 more checkout assistants, a new car park attendant because the current ones crap. he needs someone on produce with more pace, and someone on beers, wines and spirits who can drop back into pet food when necessary....
and he'll listen to me because I know how to run a supermarket better than he does....

Been supporting this club since I was 7 years old, 60 years ago last April. Apart from hearsay I have never known what the playing budget is, as no doubt the vast majority of all the supporters of the 92 clubs in the leagues have. Why all of a sudden there is an urgency from some on here for the budget to be disclosed is totally mind blowing as far as I am concerned. Bugger the budget and just get behind DC and the boys I say and let's see where things take us. We have not performed badly over the last three seasons whatever the budget has been. No doubt in my mind, we will do more than OK next season, everything that has been said by DC and our owners suggest that is their aim as well. UTG!

If I am wrong, I'm sure Topper will correct this.

When the purchase of the training ground was announced, I recall SH saying he was hopeful some pitches would be available for the club's young players and possibly for DC and the first team before the start of the season. Since then we have heard more detailed plans are being readied for building infrastructure etc. I appreciate these things take time, so I think this is another case of people expecting things to be as quick as making instant coffee Patience is a word that could cover at least five or six of the topics on gaschat at the moment, it's a pity some on here are not prepared to give our new owners a little more time to sort out the shambles of a club they took over. UTG!

SH did say when the deal went though that the only problem with starting work was down to a junior club (Coalpit Heath) using the pitch until May, plus DC also said he hoped to do some pre-season training at The Colony, whether plans have changed after their trip to Fleetwood or there was never any intention to move this summer is anybody's guess.

Weather the first team starts there this year or next year is hardly going to make a significant difference. The owners of the current training ground are more than happy for the team to stay there, they need the money.

"You're either can't read or understand English" that's a classic, let me know when you've worked out the error with that sentence! Anyway I suggest you read your own post again, as anybody most people would consider this a demand for an announcement, or statement in your words. "It would not be unreasonable to expect a statement however short about The Colony," "Why has he not felt the need to issue a club statement to the wider fan base that the original timescales have slipped - or is it not important? "
