It seems to be very quiet as usual for us, Darrel knows his budget now so fingers crossed we see players coming in rather than getting what's left on the shelf!! Coventry seem to be buying a whole new squad considering pleading poverty...decent players too, they seem to have a good recruitment team....come on dc and wael give us something to get excited about so we can stop worrying billy bob going!!!! Remind me how Coventry did in league one last season. They obviously had a good recruitment team! You might have noticed they sacked their manager and his team and brought in new people? Hence their buying established players and young players to feed in!

So, oldgas, you disapprove of SL's disrespect to BCFC fans, but you want our board to do exactly the same thing. Not the same thing at all. Read the post again!

What a disaster. Get the bets in early lads, we're nailed on for relegation.

What a disaster. Get the bets in early lads, we're nailed on for relegation. Predictable answer from the people who moan right at the end... "It's only been a few weeks" " oh we're gonna be relegated" "Man City haven't bought anyone either"... You were the same lot saying" taylor won't go to city it's a bullshit" There's a pattern every season that gasheads have gone through and Darrel keeps saying let's get rid of rag ass(bag) rovers! The only way to do that is show ambition and buy quality players that spur the team on..and the fans to spend more money and get the funds flowing... If you keep tabs on all the movement your see that everyday most clubs and it seems especially the teams that finished below us in the league are improving and being ambitious...us waiting on a non league standard centre forward who will be getting paid more money by us for his services (Harrison) to sign, which is all we have at the moment isn't great...no one has said that's it we're relegated all I was asking for is to hear we're in talks with a good player or likely to sign but there's nothing and all you hear is everyone else getting involved.. I still have faith but just hope we don't end up with another Luke James...

DC likes to keep his cards close to his chest, if you don't like that then just forget about Rovers for a month or two as he ain't going to change for you.

gaffers, really: "If you keep tabs on all the movement your see that everyday most clubs and it seems especially the teams that finished below us in the league are improving and being ambitious.." "all you hear is everyone else getting involved" That'll be up to 71 EFL clubs and 24 NL clubs all doing stuff that we're not.

Quiet as usual will do me, considering we have moved up far more places in the league over the last 3 seasons than any other team has in the same period. I seem to remember our recruitment being panned on the forum in each of the last three pre-seasons, too

Sweeney and lumley were loaned in during the january window and were very effective. leadbitter, brown, lockyer, sinclair, bodin, lines and o clarke are the most consistent performers at the club and along with matty taylor and the 2 brilliant january loans made sure we finished above halfway. I think our recruitment needs to be much much better if we are going to even equal last seasons position.

A lot to do with money unfortunately can we compete? Look at the clubs linked with Ollie Watkins have we got funds to match--I doubt it!

I think our recruitment needs to be much much better if we are going to even equal last seasons position. Maybe, but ultimately we finished 10th last year which was a great achievement and the club took another significant step forward. DC got it right in his first window to such an extent that he has only needed small additions since. One of those small additions (Bodin) turned out to be our biggest asset. He didn't hit the ground running. Why are Partington, Burn, Hartley and Moore written off when it is clear that our coaching staff have done wonders over the last few years. I expect all 4 to contribute next season now they know what the club and DC's expectations are. We need a few quality additions to challenge but DC has acknowledged this. Why does he get such little credit for the 2 brilliant loans? Those two were amongst the last players he brought to the club and he got them right. Does that not constitute good recruitment? Did JCS, Boateng and Colkett not have undoubted quality? I think they did but were ultimately a little lacking in attitude and steel. Not awful signings in my view and they all contributed. We can go on fretting and hammering on the same point if we like but I don't see the need to be so negative. DC is a brilliant manager who has shown a remarkable knack of adapting quickly with each step up. He's had a season at this level now and will have a far greater idea of what is needed in League 1 now. In the last 3 seasons we have moved up the league far more cumulative places than any other club. An amazing achievement. Could we really have done this without the recruitment being right for this football club? Ward, McGhee and Buckle have shown what damage can really be done by recruiting the wrong players. There is far more skill and thought to good recruitment than plucking a few obvious names out of a hat, particularly at this level.

But he can only spend what he's given by Wael, we all hope it will be a decent budget but little we can do if it is just a top 12 budget.

The impression you get from DC is that he wanted a top 6 or 8 budget, so will a top 12 budget be big enough to convince him to stay, or to look elsewhere for a club who can match his ambitions?
