I was basically making the point there is plenty of time to get the signings in. I'm confident we'll have the majority in by the time we play Yate on July 8th. As for Blackpool they've made some decent signings for that level like Mellis, Diamond, Logan and Anderson. Now becomes THIS level. Haha was watching Blackpool as I typed that. Meant MANSFIELD.

As Exeter sadly didn't make it out of League 2 today, what do we think the chances are of luring Ollie Watkins up the Gloucester Rd? 0 Agreed. They held on to him despite some large bids from bigger clubs than us in January. Think they will lose two or three from today's losing side in the summer now (unfortunately for them) but one of those January callers will capture Watkins.

Why is there "no chance in hell" of DC getting 10/11 players? If Darrel has said he wants 10/11 players then he will probably get 10/11 players. There is plenty of them out there, it wouldn't suprise me if Darrel had 35+ targets. Read my post again. I have and my point still stands...

How much do you reckon he would cost? He has another year left on his contract, so I reckon maybe anything between £250k-£500k. He would be an excellent signing from what I've seen of him. 21 goals from a wide position is outstanding at any level.

I have and my point still stands... First line of my post: "I don't think there's a chance in hell that we'll get 10/11 new players in for the start of preseason..." Do I think DC will get 10/11 players in for the start of preseason? No. Do I think DC will get 10/11 players in before the transfer window shuts? Yes.

But you never explicitly state that in the original post Joking aside I think you're right, no one is expecting Darrel to sign 6/7 players in the next few weeks , I reckon it will be at least mid June before we see any new signings.

I believe that, whilst looking for new signings, he is working very hard trying to keep the good ones we have. I do not envy him having to fend off greedy agents touting their (already contracted) players around for their own commissions!
The most important one to retain is DC and if he stays we will make progress. Wael is in this for the long term to build a sustainable club, he will back DC to a sustainable level. Let's just be patient - the final match of the season was only played yesterday!

But seriously, I take your point plenty of time and no need have another meltdown just yet.

If the Al Qadi family suddenly handed DC a big sum of cash for players it would mean promotion would be EXPECTED not desired or hey that's cool...EXPECTED. Promotion also means three years to go all seater. So just bolting seats to the terrace will knock the capacity down to about 7-8000 I reckon. So that's not an option is it. So unless the UWE is green lights or another site is sitting in the background ready to go I don't see anymore than the bare minimum required to compete at the top end being spent.

If waiting means signing players like Lumley and Sweeney and not players like Kelle Roos and the Chelsea boys (who might have potential but need time and not with us only for a prem club to see the benefit) then I'm happy to wait a little while longer.

Didn't they arrive late last summer, Hartley & Moore plus James(?) were the early signings.

What about the blackburn pair danny guthrie and jason lowe? Things havnt quite gone right for them in there career of late obviously as blackburn have released them but both have good experience at a higher level.

I could be wrong, but i reckon Guthries wages will be high for what he would offer. I've said it before, but I don't care where we get the players from if they have the quality. Let's not forget someone like Nigel Martyn stepped straight into our first team from St. Blazey. There are numerous other examples.
