im usually at odds with Pirate but im 100% behind him this time. I didnt actually think there was much wrong with JB football/squad wise. We were on the right path, with the style of football, gates improving and getting some exciting players, it wasnt a perfect team but it was getting much better. It was just his off field problems that were the issue. JB got his mates in (scouse mafia et al)and was slated MT is doing exactly the same, lets see how that works out this time because personally i've not got a good feeling. Im just so disappointed in that football is massively about contacts and we appear to get managers and staff that have zero. It feels like Sunday league having a ring round before the match to see if anyone knows anyone. We'll have a team of Exeter players who are no better than what we have now. We need to gamble more take more risks and get some excitement in the club. Is it not such a bad thing to get some Exeter players in. They finished above in the league with some impressive performances and we have struggled against them in recent encounters. For a fan owned club their finances are in better shape than ours and they have made significant improvements to their ground. They even built a successful ladies team. I would see Exeter as an example would should follow. Wouldn't it be fun if we the fans owned Rovers?

don't want to be going over the JB saga again but he obviously saw Rovers as a project, thought he could drag us into the 21st century, knock City off their perch and make the blue half of Bristol proud, he was backed by Wael and recruited /replaced accordingly, we can debate the merits or otherwise of that policy all day and night and get nowhere , it's in the past and JB is no longer here BUT M/T inherited many of components of that policy and from what i read on here (if it's reliable?) they have been less than enthusiastic with the clubs latest change of direction. The point is until M/T has shown the door to those concerned ,recruited and stamped his own policy and vision on the club you can not possibly judge him, so give the man a chance, he has a clean slate from day one next season as far as I am concerned, I wish him well and sincerely hope he is a great success here, Going by the post's on here the last couple months must have been a nightmare for him and I bet he can't wait to show a few the exit door. Couldn't agree more. This thread has pi**ed me off big time. It's these kind of discussions you would expect from the mob on the other side of the river about their side. Just give the manager a chance and if he he is a success I just wonder how many will be big enough to admit they were to quick to write him off.

Two Match Day threads but no GGMI. Following which match day thread is more likely to give us 3 pts?

Should get this out to all the local schools. Another good way to encourage new supporters to the mem. Hopefully it will be advertised to a wider audience, girls clubs, local sports clubs etc... Hopefully it will be well supported and a good day out. Great idea, can someone forward to TG?

The club needs to build on this success. The danger if they don't is that players will be attracted to clubs with greater ambitions and the Gas Girls rise will falter.

Heavens! A reserve game, there's a novelty! One of the good aspects of our club from a bygone era, competitive reserve league games

Throw Ins

From watching recent games Rovers have developed a habit of using throw ins to launch the ball upfield close to the touch line and more often than not, dont retain possession. Whereas, Orient yesterday invariably found one of their using a variation of moves. Surely opposing coaches will be alive to our practice and have their tactics prepared to deal with this.
Having said that, yesterday's performance was a great watch.

Noticed the Exeter Manager Gary Caldwell having a rant about Referees in particular the injury time at the end of the second half He has a rant about and with referees almost every game. It should have been longer than 5 minutes for sure but he likes to put the blame anywhere else apart from his tactics. We used to have a manager like him

This has to be good news after the delay in appointing MT there isn't going to ɓe a prolonged delay in appointing his backroom staff

Charlton forum pretty much saying not much hope for them Just looked at their past few results. Until Orient they've gone a few unbeaten. OK most were draws. Unless they have a few out or scraped the draws I'm not sure why they are negative Are you predicting a draw, maybe 5-5 isn't impossible

What a good interview by our manager. It fills me with confidence for the first time since DC that exciting times are ahead. Strap yourselves in and enjoy the ride with Taylors Boys
