Watched Politics Live yesterday. The Conservative Home (?) representative made a prediction that Labour will get a majority of 40-60 depending on how bad the SNP implosion is.

Occam's razor - if you have two competing ideas to explain the same phenomenon, you should prefer the simpler one. The Middle East has been an area divided by religion, by culture, by all kinds of factors for millennia - lines have been drawn and redrawn on maps ever since maps were invented. It has been an area with regular conflict since before proper records were kept... ...so we have the simple reason I propose - that one group (or a collection of groups) in the region are launching these attacks to escalate the conflict between Israel and Hamas and use it as a reason to eventually attack Israel directly... ...or the much more complex reason that you seem to be suggesting, that the US (not sure exactly who in the US, Biden doesn't seem likely to be on-board) is pulling the strings, organising/funding/conducting terrorist attacks on foreign soil and on international shipping to do....well, to do something that's not entirely clear. Historical record. Us and the French after WW1 carving up the previous Ottoman area of control, primarily the old Mesopotamia, for our own benefit. Lines on the map that we recognise today were drawn then. Our role in promoting the Wahabbi Saud family to lead what became Saudi Arabia. Our role in the coup that overthrew the elected government in Iran in 1952. Subsequently imposing a fascist monarchy on the people there. As for the standard trope that people from this region have been fighting each other since forever can I suggest a good read? www.jewishbookcouncil.org/book/farewell-babylon-coming-of-age-in-jewish-baghdadFrom the blurb "And we discover how before World War II the common enemy of both Jews and Muslims were the English, before the shift to the Germans as the primary Jewish antagonist after the 1941 pro-Nazi pogrom" Yep. I fail to see what benefit we have in being behind this event, be that us, the US, Isreal or France.

Just the 3 loans now, Cox, Crama and Vale?
Maybe making room for more.

Interesting development overnight, drones launched at ships in the Red Sea but includes two anti ship missiles and reportedly a ballistic missile. The aim of the drones would be to swamp the ship's radar systems and allow the anti ship missiles to get through. Hitting a ship would escalate things dramatically, leading to counter attacks against launch sites inland. They must be getting the hardware from Iran so this could easily get out of hand. As is Russia.

Eat broccoli and 90% of people experience mild to moderate side-effects... You do understand the difference between an arm ache Vs heart problems? Heart problems was a 1 in 10,000 risk. How many lives were saved because of it? How many people didn't get seriously ill? In the UK, Covid vaccine saved over 100,000 people's lives. But hey, your mate should take priority because you know him. This makes you think 🤔 ! According to a report by the Lowel Observatory, 13 percent of people really thought the moon was made of cheese. Maybe because of the craters they thought it was a huge chunk of Swiss cheese. Do people still think we swallow three spiders a year in our sleep?

This post office stuff is really p*ssing me off. The Tories are truly a disgrace. A government institution under their watch, the government/public body are the ones who sentences the victims to jail time, the government are the ones who paid out the appalling and underpaid claims to protect the image of the post office. All of this happened under the Tory watch. But now theres been a TV series on it, they're pretending to be outraged like they had no idea the entire time. It's all Ed Davey's fault (yes, he probably does have questions to answer, but the clamour to pass the buck for political advantage is so obvious).

I'm not sure I agree with this. A season ticket holder is demonstrating a commitment to the club, a non season ticket holder isn't demonstrating that commitment. A season ticket holder would prioritise Rovers home games, a non season ticket holder doesn't prioritise that. Otherwise, why wouldn't you have a season ticket? It doesn't make them any more of a fan but it does show more commitment to the club and that should be recognised and rewarded by the club. Or they have more money, don't work Saturday afternoon or Tuesday evening, haven't got family commitments ? I'm not disagreeing that Season Ticket holders get first go, but we're all in this together Gasheads x I was an almost ever present at Twerton but neither my dad or I could commit to a season ticket until I started working in 1993. As a result I couldn't get a ticket for the Liverpool FA Cup match, yet I knew of City fans who were there as they had Season ticket holder friends who could buy a couple. Rovers introduced a voucher scheme shortly afterwards, so many vouchers evidenced attendance and could be used for priority tickets.

I've long thought that we should have a Director of Communications to act as a point of contact between fans, press and the board.

It seems a totally meaningless role, I'm surprised anybody takes it on, unless they like pawn sarnies in the boardroom every few months. Not enough Rs. Not enough Rs, too many Rs? Personally, I couldn't give an Rs. 😁

Probably AI picking up 9n the 1964 betting scandal when we had goalkeeper Esmond Million and inside-forward Keith Williams suspended. Seriously AI picking up an article from over 50 years ago? If it did wouldn't it name the two players involved and so give us a real laugh? That would depend on the algorithm, I suspect it would be deliberately omitting details and keep it vague. By naming it opens up to litigation or ignoring.

Energy security. The first duty of any government is national defence which covers things like energy and food security. Not planning in such an unstable world is a dereliction of duty. Did the Tories privatise Centrica ? 🙄🇬🇧 If you see him, don't tell Sid. 😃
