Why is there very little good to say about the owners? Perhaps because they know nothing about football and yet are trying to run the thing both on and off the pitch. So far what have they brought us? Slightly bigger stadium with more seats but reduced the crowds significantly by dropping the standard of the football watched and pretty well cut our chances of attacking by selling Collins and not replacing him- that alone makes me doubt their intentions. If they sell Evans that will give them a substantial bit of their money back. Remember as well that Wael brought them in because he could not afford to take us forward. I am yet to be convinced that this new lot wont take us backwards reducing the budget can only lead to tears and if they think you can get to the Championship with lower paid players then pull the other leg. Look at the teams who go up and generally their budget is well above ours.Has Matty Taylor got a son? Perhaps if he has he should bring him in to select the team because that is what the owner has done. A toy for his son but when will he throw the toys out of the pram? I always find the toy for the son thing funny like we've not been a club of nepotism for 30+ years.

When the bookies have us already down amongst the bottom rungs then we will need to splash out to convince anyone of note to join the field of dreams for the coming season. How can bookies set odds now when they don't know if Bolton or Oxford will be in L1 next season? because they're a business and people want to bet on things?

Go and get Lewis Stevenson & Paul Hanlon. What do you reckon the chances of signing players from the Georgian top flight? I don't think wages would particularly be an issue, it’s just whether they would be willing or not. I like this lad Aleksandre Kalandadze who is equally comfortable at LB/CB. Caught my eye at Euros and surprised he was still playing over there. The biggest issue with Georgia is accessibility, you need two flights to get home from the UK… Nothing is direct.

No guarantees Martin will be as potent next season. Just look at David McGoldrick, ripped us to shreds last season and only managed about half his goal return in the league below this season. He was a lot more mobile than Martin too. There's no guarantee with football full stop; Jamie White scored 36 goals in 69 games in the Conference before signing for us compared to 0 in 11 for us (0.52 GPG vs 0 GPG). John Marquis scored 68 goals in 202 League One games before signing for us compared to 13 in 71 for us (0.33 GPG vs 0.18 GPG). I could go on...

Perhaps the old offside rules should be bought back. Two players have to be between the attacker and goal when ball is played. Any anywhere across the pitch. No phases, no in keepers eyeline or not, no interfering with play, to many subjective things at moment. The ruling bodies think fans want to see more goals, while some of us admire good defence. T hey need to remember why offside was introduced as a rule. It should still be about stopping an attacker having an unfair advantage over a defender by getting a “head start”. Now that we have these lines with VAR and moving towards automated decisions they should say there has to be clear daylight in order for there to have been a genuine advantage gained by the attacker. Handball is tricky and the law hasn’t changed as far as I know - it still reads as deliberate. What has changed is the referee body’s trying to make it more black and white but all they’ve done is add loads more subjective factors for the refs to consider. How far has the ball travelled, is the arm in a natural position, is the arm too far from the body etc…..just let the ref decide if, in his opinion, there was a deliberate act in the handball. They could make it very black and white by saying any contact between arm and ball is handball - then you’ll have a ridiculous situation where the likes of Arteta, Simeone, Mourinho will instruct their players to chip or blast balls at defenders arms as soon as they enter the penalty area. To be fair it was introduced in 1863, I doubt anyone can.

Also slowing everything down for a penalty review is crazy. Show 1 replay of each angle at normal speed, if inconclusive, go with on field decision. Just bring in reviews.

What a minefield! just think IF ! would England have won the world cup in 66 with goal line tech? we would certainly have benefited re 'hand of god, Lampard's goal etc with var BUT a toe being offside, ball being smashed against hand decisions etc are a nonsense are they not, as others have said the problem arises with operator interpretation, human error , this is no different than refs and lineman occasionally getting it wrong so on balance i would scrap as it has a very negative impact on the fans enjoyment. A big difference in football of course compared to many other sports is the attitude and conduct of the participants, professional footballers are basically cheats , are encouraged to cheat, and will use every trick in the book to gain an advantage, all of does nothing to help the officials make the right decision. A toe being offside is still offside. I hear this point of view often about VAR. I don't understand it. Why make something subjective, when we can have an absolute answer to within a very small measure of inaccuracy? The binary laws of the game are fine. No one minds goal line technology & if they automated offsides I'd be for it. The argument against the current offside set up is when does the ball leave the foot? Do we have enough frames? If we're going down to midges dick levels that needs sorting.

Would be a big power move to put a roof over a roof while the East Terrace continues to get soaked. Hope it happens. Gas af. Let’s dig the club out at every turn. Chewbacca af 😜 Not even a dig at the club. I'd just find a screen having a roof while the folk looking at it get soaked really very funny.

No one has asked the obvious question - Will the supporting platform be an open framework or will it cover the existing roof ? If the supporting platform covers the entire roof of the south west stand why do we need the existing roof ? And indeed the existing roof supports that block peoples view ? Will it be possible to create the supporting platform without any pillars at the front of the stand ? Sadly doing things piecemeal must add to cost as there seems to be a lot of duplication in the support platform and the the stand roof structure. Can't see any reason to build a roof over the roof so I guess it will be a skeletal structure above the existing roof, mounted to the top of the existing supports. Would be a big power move to put a roof over a roof while the East Terrace continues to get soaked. Hope it happens. Gas af.

WTF, JCH signs for Rotherham within days of leaving Posh, so there's 20 goals guaranteed in division 1 gone. Doh. Well Monotone has now finally well and truly got rid of all of our / his ghosts from Christmas past, he's now sat in the quarters with no one else to blame bar himself, lets hope George can turn water into wine, because Matty has no football pedigree and / or significant other contacts north of Cheltenham to call upon. Sigh.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Marquis and Finley back in league one. Stockport? We might regret letting Jones and Greenslade go, good luck to them UTG Have any released youngsters in the past 15-20 years gone on to better things elsewhere? Most seem to find their natural level around the 6th tier It's an interesting one. I can't help but feel for young pros it's a case of being in the right place, at the right time that's a huge part of development. Players usually find themselves in the first team because of a lack of other options, add that in with being victims of circumstance. Ollie Clarke, Tom Lockyer & Ellis Harrison all benefitted from a season of Conference football at the club whereas Ryan Broom and to an extent Alfie Kilgour being a few years younger weren't afforded the privilege to grow with their club. With Jed Ward last season, would he have been given a chance with an experience goalkeeper at the club? Probably not. Cox not being ours, around a similar age and ability, it was an easy decision to invest time and minutes in one of our own players while relatively safe. We live in a world where the boring player who has 150+ appearances at the level you're playing is a better choice for a manager because football is all about short term results for managers.

What's the latest on this? People moaned for about 12 hours about the death of football, then did nothing and it's going through. Rinse, repeat.

I go every season hoping to make the playoffs not top 10 Of course we all hope to, but given the league is much stronger next season (Birmingham, Huddersfield, Steve Evans' Rotherham, Reading and Wigan sorting their financial messes out, Wrexham and Stockport coming up, Mansfield will be competitive too), and that 70% of our squad has left - a top half finish would be a tremendous success, given we've done it only ONCE in the last 11 attempts at this level. Need to walk before we can run. A good season generally can be seen as win the majority of your home games, ideally some really fun away games and never really in doubt regarding safety. In our current set up, a top ten season on the verge of playoffs would be a stunning season in my opinion. We've not go to the third tier playoffs in 26 years!

Is this a trend, only looking at players whose first and surnames begin with the same letter ? Alliteration Rovers FC. *Alliterations Arovers AFC
