Thought this thread might be an ITK post about Brandon being positive.

If it's true and he did design the training ground then the pitches will have to have extra space on the left and nothing in either penalty area.

We'd gone over a decade without having a first team match not include an ex-Youth/Development player. Ben ended that run. Ollie Clarke choose to leave didn't he?? As did Harrison and Lockyer etc. You can only play the player's if you have them. Who would you have played?? Player's like Lockyer and then OC were going to start, so it's hardly a fair comparison. Not at all. Kilgour, Hargreaves, Kelly, Walker, Mehew, Tomlinson and many more were available to him. He decided to develop players from elsewhere.

Ok, few things here; 1) Why? 2) He was the first manager in over a decade to not play an ex-Youth/Development Squad player in a match. Didn't he bring Zain Walker into the first team set up?? Don't think he played in the league, before he was here. Think his first league appearance was at Doncaster. Mehew made his debut against Walsall in the EFL trophy. So how was he the first manager, not to play them?? We'd gone over a decade without having a first team match not include an ex-Youth/Development player. Ben ended that run.

Yes, deserves credit for making it through the job interview process, after that....nope!....worst manager in our entire history. Ah, not actually true. His win percentage of 20.6% has him better than Terry Cooper 19.1%, Dave Penney 15.4% and Martin Dobson 8.3%. As for his PPG (based on 3 points for a win) Ben has 0.91 compared to Terry Cooper's 0.85, Dave Penney's 0.62 and Martin Dobson's 0.42. So Subjectively Ben is only the fourth worst manager out of out 34 appointments (This includes the two separate spells of Ward and Francis in one set of statistics).

Has to take credit for being instrumental in the build of the training ground and leaving a legacy of bringing through players from our development squad. Ok, few things here; 1) Why? 2) He was the first manager in over a decade to not play an ex-Youth/Development Squad player in a match.

Pleased to confirm that I did not watch the game so have zero opinion on it, though I am dead happy we won 3-0.
Well done Gas, be it luck or deserved.

I expect us to really struggle with Jonny Williams. Doesn't seem to play many minutes, but does appear to have played some in most matches - impact sub? Managing him. He's had terrible luck with injuries. Wonderful player, genuinely think he'd be playing top flight football had he not been injured so much.

Upson will always split supporters with his approach because it comes across as a little languid when in reality he probably covers as much ground as anyone. He reminds me in a way of Chris Lines who polarised in his first stint at the club.

I fail to understand the unhealthy obsession regarding the club’s financial situation on this forum. It seems relatively simple to me. Mr AQ aquired the club from NH. For several years he was stymied by his older brother who’s sole aim appeared to be stopping the required investment to move us forward. In fact I believe we were starting to slide backwards. The unfortunate passing of Mr AQ senior gave Wael the necessary financial freedom to invest and progress the club. It seems to me he has done so quite spectacularly. He has assured us he has taken all debt away from the club and has guaranteed the club’s existence through the pandemic. In spite of these assurances we have all these “experts” calling his every move and statement into question. I would like to know how all these financial wizards have the time to endlessly speculate on his intentions and the club’s financial situation. Is there anyone on this forum or in the wider world of Rovers fans who are willing to take over and improve the situation to these experts satisfaction? No, didn’t think so. I am happy to pay for my 3 season tickets each year, turn up, buy the occasional pasty and drink, buy my son the home and away kits each year and leave the running of the club, a thankless task, to a man who seems to have a good executive team around him and who, I an quite certain, is a financial expert. Pretty much where I am with it, I was growing tired of AQ v1.0 as we were stagnating again. More than willing to give v2.0 a good go, it's off to a decent start off the field but we do need to get all our ducks in a row. I'm hopeful.

I’ve kept out of this thread. But it appears BRFC are in the best financial position, perhaps better than in my whole lifetime thanks to Wael, yet we can still argue about it. That’s my Rovers!! 😀😀😀😀 UTG! There's two threads in this thread now.
- Rovers financial position. - Which ITK is getting their ITK from the right ITK so they can appear ITK on the forum.

League clubs closer than Plymouth;
Bristol City - 5 miles Newport County - 26 miles Forest Green Rovers - 29 miles Swindon Town - 40 miles Cheltenham Town - 40 miles Cardiff City - 41 miles Reading - 78 miles Exeter City - 81 miles AFC Bournemouth - 84 miles Oxford United - 85 miles Birmingham City/Coventry City - 86 miles Walsall - 89 miles Aston Villa - 93 miles Wolverhampton Wanderers - 100 miles Southampton - 100 miles Wycombe Wanderers - 102 miles Brentford - 111 miles Fulham - 114 miles Chelsea - 115 miles Portsmouth - 118 miles AFC Wimbledon - 122 miles MK Dons - 123 miles Stoke City - 123 miles -------------------------------------------------- Plymouth Argyle - 123.9 miles
If Plymouth is a local derby then 25% of the whole Football League is.
Are those distances as the crow flies or Google map type road distances. Many of those would be fewer miles if one were to travel by train. From the Mem to the ground on roads.

We ought to win this one. If we play anywhere near our potential we will win it. Of course local derby matches are tough and sometimes throw up surprising results. However, we are starting to build some momentum and Plymouth quite the reverse. If we are to avoid relegation, this is the type of match that needs to yield 3 points for us. Local derby ? We’re playing Plymouth. Over 100 miles away. League clubs closer than Plymouth;

Unfortunately this is nonsense. Accrington have recently built a whole new stand, they now have a reasonably tidy if small set up. Adams Park is just completely out of our league with regards to facilities. Fortunately Barrow and Harrogate were promoted otherwise our ground would be in the Football League's relegation zone. It's an absolute dump. I completely agree that the Mem is a dump and one of the worst in the league, but just to add a tiny bit of balance, I'd say that grounds like Spotland, Kenilworth Road and Blundell Park aren't much better either, in terms of matchday experience and facilities. The fact they have more seats is the only positive. Spotland is absolutely fine for Rochdale, tidy enough if a little dated. You can put it in a bracket with grounds like Glanford Park and Sixfields. Kenilworth Road and Blundell Park are dated but still in my opinion better than The Mem purely on the basis around a fifth of the attendance won't get soaked if it rains. A roof is quite simply one of the biggest positives of a match day experience and facilities.

The wise man said that to me when we left Eastville in 1986 View Attachment and I asked him where our new home would be built.Since then I have become very old so I think he was wrong.'Be patient we were told then .These things take time'.Forty years in fact!!!! and still nothing but a new tent. I always thought that Black Arabs historically grew up in tents? Maybe that explains why we have so many? There are also worse grounds than ours in terms of structure; Accy’s Wham “Stadium” for one but out of respect to them, they are a small town but could be pushing for Champuonship?
Wycombe’s not much better? And a real nightmare to get out of at full time!I still think that Wael should have a word with Qatar FA about reusing one of their stadiums after 2022 then just a question of finding some land? North of M4 there is plenty? South of M4 there is plenty alongside M4 / M32? I would rather go to Mem than soulless MK etc. Going every other week there ..... not for me! UTG Unfortunately this is nonsense. Accrington have recently built a whole new stand, they now have a reasonably tidy if small set up. Genuine question, does this mean a further dilution of the SC's share holding? Not a dig at the ownership because previous owners had done it, just asking the question.
