I'd bite your arm off for a draw at the moment, just hope we build on the solid defensive display from Saturday.

You're joking right? Relegation to the Conference was greeted with a collective shrug. Most apathetic fanbase in world football. Except the bloke in skin tight shorts and tank top that punched a horse. Apparently. That was a shrug, the horse got in the way.

What seems odd is that we sacked a manager that was doing badly having been doing appallingly. Especially when everyone was told he was here to change the whole thinking and recruitment at the club, a long term experiment. Then appoint proven unsuccessful manager at this level to shore up the ship and ensure we don’t go down and he makes things worse. New manager bounce? More like dead cat bounce Exactly this. If the MEM was open I would expect a massive revolt against Starnes and Widdrington. You're joking right? Relegation to the Conference was greeted with a collective shrug. Most apathetic fanbase in world football.

I was fortunate enough to go to Buenos Aires and Rio last March just before lockdown. We managed to go to 8 games in 9 days before having to cut the trip short but we did manage to see Boca win the title, leapfrogging River on the last day of the season. Boca scored their winner in the 72nd minute when Carlos Tevez smashed the ball home from the edge of the area. We were at the end where Tevez scored and an outstanding avalanche as they're called in Argentina ensued. An absolutely mental moment which, I wrote about here.
5:50 for the Goal, the bottom tier is the tier we were in;

I suppose it would be Ward depending on how you measure success. He took us to a Playoff final. I'd say Ward. On another day we win that final. He's the closest we've got to the second tier 30 years.

Possibly Gerry Francis in my humble opinion Gerry came from the playing squad didn't he? Yep!

On paper our squad is great. Is it though? It seems we have a completely dysfunctional, unbalanced and inexperienced squad. We started the Hull game with the 7 forward players having less League appearances together than Ed Upson. Our squad is poor but littered with potential. Unfortunately they all seem to have potential in the same 2 positions.

Ian Holloway when he returned to the club as player-manager in 1996 was probably the last successful external appointment but even that was a bit internal given the fact he had played almost 300 games for Rovers at that point and was Gashead through and through. Yeah, if you don't count him, or John Ward mk1, then you really have to go back to Bert Tann. Holloway and Francis were ex-employees of the club. I'd argue Ward v1.0 was successful and arguably the best performing manager post-Francis for getting within 90 minutes of reaching the second tier.

You’re saying Adebayo is worth £250k and that’s not inflated? i don’t know for certain as I haven’t seen him play much but he’s not been particularly prolific in his career and has only been scoring more regularly (but he’s only got 8 in league 2 this season) this year..... i think £250k is inflated and a gamble £250k for a just turned 23-year-old 6ft 4in striker with 30 goals or assists in 89 league games (18 goals from 39 starts for Walsall) seems very reasonable and a good deal for the buying club to me. Especially when you consider the undisclosed fees we've paid for Josh Barrett, Ben Liddle, Zain Westbrooke, Jonah Ayunga and Cian Harries.

Not sure what the obsession with signing a striker is. We've scored 12 goals in our last 10 matches. We're currently averaging a goal a game this season. It's not like we can't score. It's pretty obvious the problem is the 35 goals we've shipped at the back. Solving that problem will change our fortunes far more quickly than a new striker. The whole spine of the outfield team needs improving. And we could do with another option on the wings. Not much to ask. Lol. Leftbacks are ok though?

Let's be honest, we're not signing anyone. To do so now would be to U-turn on the policy of only signing players to make the squad better. Relegation will probably be a fair outcome to an incredibly arrogant and insipid way of running the football side of the club for 2 years.

Why bring him back, even walked out of Walsall at the first opportunity. One thing I hope are club is not, is a retirement home for ex players and Managers. Stewwie has a near decade of coaching experience, if the manager wants to recruit him then I'm ok with it. He left Walsall to cut down time away from his family.
