Who knew There was so much love for Pearson here Nah, just not blinded so much by my dislike for “them” that I can’t recognise a decent manager when I see one. I was genuinely concerned that he’d take them up tbh. Hopefully they’ll employ Ainsworth now😁 Fair enough, but no one on here had a good word to say about him before.

He signed off his Rbris post match interview with a very cryptic “well, I hope so!” , when interviewer said “speak to you soon” (probably misquoted but I wasn’t listening that closely). He’s a good manager, if a little dull. For all his Sheted pedigree, anyone saying they wouldn’t have him here is mad. Well out of our range though. Who knew There was so much love for Pearson here

Never a fan of the man, but loved his style of football that at times was a joy to watch.

To be fair its only this seasons record that matters. 4 wins 4 draws 5 losses 18 scored 18 conceded GD zero Not great admittedly, but hardly grounds for sacking a manager not even a third of the way through the season. Football is the same as any other business, in manufacturing you gage productivity, if it’s going down or not going up and you know you can do better, a good business looks at it. Now someone is going to tell me football is different to manufacturing, correct but then our football business now down 500 plus a game on attendees, can anyone tell me our average home att against last season now? And before I hear cost of living crisis, they had 12,000 for a female Bristol City game on the weekend! Football is a business, but past seasons are irrelevant as soon as a new one starts. We need to improve, but there is still time and if we do then so will attendances. 12000 at trashton to watch an Arsenal women’s team full of internationals is hardly relevant either.

It's difficult to see how many could do any worse, that's for sure. Often you look around and think "what's available", but there's actually a good few out there right now I would bite your hand off for. Barton is a L2 manager at best - that's his level. Yes tactically it's probably still beyond him, but his contacts for players at that level get him across the line. At L1, they get you a decent enough squad, but without the tactical nous you'll get found out - as he has been. He thinks he’s managing top class players. We’re constantly trying to play a style of football that the players aren’t comfortable with. Collins game is all about pace and direct running but I can’t remember us playing with much pace or directness this season other than the Wigan game , Port vale and the odd 20 mins here and there. And I’m not talking about hoofing it aimlessly I’m talking about tempo. You can still play nice football if you move the ball quicker , ok you won’t make as many successful passes over 90 minutes but the passes you make will create better opportunities particularly in the lower leagues and that’s what our “Premier league” manager can’t grasp. Wasn’t there tonight but generally our football sends me to sleep. We’re a crap watch , I’m not impressed by having twice as much possession as the opposition like some are but I like to see us create clear cut chances by moving the ball in to situations quickly and putting the opposition defenders out of their comfort zone facing their own goal and making them rattled. That’s what works at this level. Barton needs to understand that or we’ll be closer to the bottom four than the top 6 at the end of the season. I think we have a pretty skilful squad for this league and we have looked amazing at times sadly not often enough. I think we all know there is a good team in there, but for whatever reasons injuries, poor form, luck etc. it isn’t happening. However they still look like a team with belief. So Im still optimistic that they will eventually click and we will see the Rovers that we all want to see.

That really was awful from Rovers, but to be fair Stevenage were no better and had it not been for our own defender clattering our Goalkeeper we could have won which just shows the state of this division. We were poor, but Stevenage are experts at spoiling and making good sides look poor. Draw was not a great result for us , but a fair result on the night. I cant see how Evans was MOM on Player, Cox saved us tonight and was easily my MOM. In what possible way can Stevenage be called spoilers tonight? They played more football than we did, hoofed it less than we did, attacked more than we did even when already winning, and didn’t waste time with any gamesmanship nonsense (remember Steve Cottrell’s Shrewsbury last season?) As you say Cox was your MoM so they must have played with attacking intent. We were awful, Stevenage were not awful and nor were they spoilers. We got lucky. I’ll take that. I’m more concerned that the manager thinks we played well second half and deserved more! Maybe we see things differently, but the stats say that we had more possession, more shots and committed less fouls

Post match Barton… 1. Cox was fouled for their goal … 2. A travesty if we had lost… 3. We should have had a penalty for hand ball .. 4. We deserved a win … 5. Called Steve Evans a weeble 🙊 6. Pleased with second half effort .. Not sure what game he watched … I think I only agree with point 5 . Cox was clattered and their player was involved could easily have been ruled out It would have been a travesty if either team had won There was a good shout for handball We deserved nothing nor did Stevenage Evans is not Slim Relieved we flooked a goal. S#!t game against a S#!t team we go again on Saturday UTG

We won 4-1 a couple of weeks ago 🤷♂️ Like today's game that turned on a needless red for the opposition! Think that was the 3-0 against Port Vale, Though I don’t think todays sending off changed the result we would have lost anyway.

Let’s not kid ourselves 4-1 is a hammering we are currently 17th and we have not looked convincing for quite a while. Joey has got us playing attractive football and I believe he can turn it around, but I am beginning to have doubts. We won 4-1 a couple of weeks ago 🤷♂️ Just as well otherwise we’d be 20th

Absolutely right too. His record at L1 level is poor. He’s got to have spent at least £4.5m in budget for this season alone and we are no better but apparently with much better players. The common denominator there must be JB. I’ve said he needs to be top 10 by Dec 1, so I’m not saying out now but he’s on borrowed time. It's not right though is it! We've won to nil, we've scored, we've finished with 11 players. Vultures don't exist in the UK either.. So wtf are you pair on about 😆 Did we not just squander an early lead by half time, have we not failed to score enough goals when we are on top did we just have a player sent off through his own stupidity. Oh! and the Bearded Vulture and Egyptian Vulture have both been spotted in the UK recently.

Not good enough. Can’t hold on to a lead, cant defend, can’t score, cant keep eleven on the pitch. The vultures are circling for Barton.

That’s just being childish as it clearly doesn’t tell the story. Your other post I agree with. Well I’ve been childish and banned him. Shame he was very amusing.
