I don’t know who you asked. I can think of lots of games where we played great football and I think we still do unfortunately it counts for nothing if you can’t score or defend. We played great football but we can't score or defend? Are you sure? :/ That is not what i said if you read it, but if it amuses you to take the wee wee knock yourself out pal

I'd argue we were playing good football... style wasn't the issue. Winning league one matches was. 5 weeks for similar CV in that regard. Is that a myth?? When you ask people what games we played good football in, they can't think of many. It was like Garner. Pass, pass, pass at the back going no where and then kick it long! Because Barton said it was good, fans believed him. I don’t know who you asked. I can think of lots of games where we played great football and I think we still do unfortunately it counts for nothing if you can’t score or defend.

I agree. people moaning about a few pillars is unreal, I think the stand looks fantastic. If we lost the pillars then we’d probably use some seats. I think it’s an upgrade on what we had for sure but I’m not sure it’s fantastic, not for me anyway. I don’t think the pillars are there to give us extra seats I think it was more about cost and speed, but its built now and it’s a massive improvement.

Still won't be good enough for some on here. It's a nice new stand, but.... It's not nice enough, It's not a new build, It should have been done years ago. 🫣 I thought the same, but after much research I think it’s the best that could be achieved. Nearly 3500 seats in that part of the ground under cover is an amazing upgrade.

I've always thought that this could be a possibility. Maybe it still is. Maybe this is a way of relaxing the restrictions on the land to make way for a stadium? Maybe the new owners have a plan to sell the club with land and planning permission for a stadium? Who knows? 🫰 There is absolutely no possibility of a stadium ever being built on The Quarters site. Or any other site we plan to build one period.

Seven points from nine can’t do Mangan’s chances any harm.

I think you may have missed the point of his but hay ho. 🤷♂️ Try:- The proof of the pudding is in the eating. You'll find it now makes sense. However Christmas pudding can be soaked in Brandy in which case the proof would be in the pudding.

In normal circumstances we might expect a changed squad for this game. However,if AM is seriously wanting the manager job he will want a cv of wins. A defeat against Whitby essentially ends his chances of the permanent gig. I don’t think todays result will have much bearing on his chances. It’s the cup anything can happen, I’m sure the owners know that.

Been a bit busy, just come on the forum, can't believe it, has Barton been sacked? 🤣 No way! When did that happen. I’ve also heard Robbie Williams has left Take That.

It's true. I think as a fan base we are used to sh**, seems to be a mindset that anything is better than what we've got. I dont think it would be tolerated at many other clubs. We are comparing ourselves with Carlisle, we are in a city that is at least 5 times the size of Carlisle. Can’t disagree with any of that from what has been mentioned so far. If we are staying at the Mem then this is the opportunity to design a future proof fit for purpose stadium which would be an asset to the fans and the community.

Build an extension at the back of the east stand, ready for lifts, improved access to the stands, and any other new facilities required. Remove the roof in the off season, put a new roof over the existing structure that can be joined onto with additional flanks to the structure. At the same time gut the bars and club shop and rebuild including the space from the new structure. Incorporate food and merchandise concessions in the concourse extension. Build new structures to the north and the south in a similar enough style to blend in. Replace the terracing with new seating. Then you have a fantastic stand with many of the problems stated resolved. Might not be cheap but means you don’t have to lose much capacity in season or start from scratch. See, this is what I envisaged when I heard al-Saeed’s interview. I don’t think for a minute that they will just put up some cobbled-together piece of sh**e. While it will surely be better than what we have. I cant see it being anything other than cobbled together.

Who knew There was so much love for Pearson here Nah, just not blinded so much by my dislike for “them” that I can’t recognise a decent manager when I see one. I was genuinely concerned that he’d take them up tbh. Hopefully they’ll employ Ainsworth now😁 Fair enough, but no one on here had a good word to say about him before.
