It’s not exactly hard to pretend you’re ITK by predicting a Rovers stadium plan will fall through.
It’s like pretending your ITK by saying Rovers will field 11 players next Saturday.

The other interesting thing in the article was about discussion with YTL. Maybe there is discussion regarding the arena site?. After seeing two stadium talks collapse in the 7 and a half years of being here, the owners must really want to move out if they open talks about a third.

I think we knew that Wael and co were hard bargainers after the UWE collapse.
That's a good thing, we want a good deal for the club ultimately.
If we were only going to get a small capacity, or not have rights to the non matchday revenue or not have any parking on site. Then it's best we look elsewhere.
It's a tough pill to swallow after disappointment after disappointment on the stadium front but crucial we get it right.
If the redevelopment of the Mem land is the only option we have then so be it, it's a good location just a shame about the parking situation and some of the neighbours.

Probably just done for fun, but I do like the design. I could see us making some noise in there. 100% done for fun by a hobbyist with Sketchup. Looks pretty good though. Gassy is that you?

I don't agree with that.
Finley IS a good footballer, we saw that with his first season and a half at the club.
One of the better midfielders we've had in recent years in fact.
This season he's been off the boil, but he's not been playing terribly. He's had a couple of good games.
It could be the pressure of the captaincy, or it could be the way the team is tactically set up.
With the midfield so stacked with good options, a spell on the bench for a few games could do him some good.
Hastily getting rid of the captain and a key figure in the dressing room is not the right approach though, Finley still has a lot to contribute IMO.

Who are these plenty of clubs? With add ons the deal could've amounted to over a million pounds. Some of the bigger clubs in this league are in dire financial straights Derby, Reading, Wigan.
At a push I'd say Bolton, Portsmouth and perhaps Oxford if they were really going to push the boat out.
Most clubs in this division simply don't have that kind of money.
I'd call submitting the paperwork 50 seconds late and not requesting an extension a pretty big mess up.
only one party messed up and that was someone who got greedy st the last minute. We should've put ourselves in a position to say no to such demands and search for an alternative option.
Agents are always going to be greedy, that's their job.
We backed ourselves up against a wall, where we were desperate to get a striker at all costs and had to accept unfavourable terms.
We then made a blunder with the paperwork.
Some of the blame for the deal in question does lie with the agent and Posh, that much is also true.
I hope we learn a lesson from the experience.

Ok then, no one other than us could afford him, or want to afford him, if that's the case why wasn't he and his Agent ready to sign the deal with plenty of time to spare? Nah, let's just blame us, again. No I agree with the view that all three parties played their part in the deal falling through.
Posh for stalling the deal until they got the terms they wanted for JCH and found a replacement.
The agent for adding more stipulations into the deal late in the hour.
Ourselves for not filling for an extension and handing in the paperwork past the deadline.
Anyone saying the blame is fully on just one of the parties is not correct. If we don't own our failings we'll never learn from them.

I can't see City coming in for him, there are more proven options in the Championship for the kind of money they have.
That said it doesn't mean he wouldn't be a superb option in League One, fully expecting there to be 6 or 7 clubs interested in him when the price drops below the £500k mark.
£3-400k to sit on their bench and stop us having him. Wouldnt be the first time.. Maybe but supposedly Pearson and Barton get on pretty well.

No-one else wants him? I think well over half of League One clubs would sign him in a heartbeat. No-one else could afford him. We were one of the very few clubs willing to take that gamble. I don’t think the deal represented great value for money but there surely can be no question of JCH’s ability or attitude after his first spell at the club and what he’s achieved since. He didn’t sign, we messed up the paperwork. Let’s hope we learn next time. If we still want him in Jan id imagine we would face a lot more competition at a knock down rate. Maybe even the teds to plonk on their bench again I can't see City coming in for him, there are more proven options in the Championship for the kind of money they have.

Plenty of Lg1 Clubs could afford him, the fact that not one apart from us put an offer together suggests very few rate him, or want him. And who says we messed up the paperwork? But they still have the leagues best striker and 2 other signings they made on the day. We have £800k burning a hole (maybe...) and have a striker less on the books. Think we came off worse. Id like to know when negotiations started considering JCH has been on the TL since May and window opened in June. think we dodged a bullet. One strop from him and the big lamb will sulk away his contract. Nobody else wants him not even his current club that says a lot about the person. No-one else wants him? Sinclair should be a starter in this side, only person I have confidence in to score and create chances at the minute.

I think the most positive thing I can think of is that unlike other years, reinforcements on deadline day weren’t a ‘must’ if we are to compete in this league.
We have a good competitive squad already filled with Championship experience and players that have served us well over the last couple of years.
We were in the position where we just needed to add the final touches to the squad in order to mount a playoff campaign. Hopefully Barton will be able to get the best out of this group of players and we’ll still be in that position in January.
At least we didn’t lose our best striker to our fiercest rivals for £300k right? I don’t think we’re ever going to have another deadline day as bad as that.

We've got JCH at the quarters, just force him to turn up to the mem tomorrow and tell the ref he's Harvey Greenslade as listed on the teamsheet.
Easy.

“Whether or not the deal will be resurrected in January or as an initial loan deal with a commitment to purchase is not yet clear.“ That would make no sense as he's out of contract next summer.
In any case, I can't see either club being too keen to pick up the phone in January.
Possibly have a chance of signing him next summer but he'll have a pick of about 10 clubs.

Posh might have some issues financially if they've spent a large wedge on a replacement, anticipating the 800k and they're still lumbered with JCH and his wages.
They're releasing a statement tomorrow.
At least gobby Dmac is out of pocket, that's a small consolation.
