So are seats for west and east stands sold out or are there still some available? I would imagine some fans have held back from buying elsewhere in the ground in the hope they would be back on sale after the deadline passed.

That still doesn't explain why Oxford's odds are better than ours, we had the better end to the season, are likely to have a bigger fan base betting plus aren't losing our star player? do you know something about taylor that we don't?

To be fair a promoted team isn't going to be one of the favourites for the title. Until there is some evidence that money is going to be spent the bookies aren't going to reflect it in the odds.

Who cares about cups, i'm just glad to not be involved! Not a good play off year for the sides who finished highest!

Not sure we will be paying transfer fees this summer. Lyle Taylor is out of contract. As are the whole of Wimbledon's squad Definitely a possibility then.

I imagine that the discount at it's current level will continue till the end of June with only the installment plan ending earlier. If taylor stays and we make a couple of quality signings the numbers could be boosted further, also people who usually pay on the day in the west terrace may not want to risk not being able to stand there.

I might be going mad here, but can anyone else remember a woman running onto the pitch naked during the middle of a game in one of first two seasons at the Mem? I seem to remember it being near the end of the 1997/98 season when we got to the playoffs on the last game of the season. It may of been against Luton in our last but one home game of that season, but I cant remember. From my memory Luton were wearing a yellow kit and one of there players broke his leg. Anyone else recall this? It popped into my head the other day but I just want to make sure this did happen and I've not gone mad! ? I remember this, was standing in the west enclosure at the time and she was running around the blackthorn end goal. If i remember right it was against Brentford last day when Hayles scored that header to get us a play off place.

The official figures from a week ago stated 4350, but the figures from the online ticket site suggest around 4000 terrace sales, you cannot buy a stand season ticket on there. Have no idea how many seats we've sold but talk is matchday availability will be limited. I think season ticket holders have till 1st June to renew their seat. Add in those and we're probably around 5000.

Should we really be spending money on the Mem IF we are getting a new stadium soon? Is there a problem or big delay anticipated? Yes when i hear talk of work being done to the mem it does make me nervous about the uwe going forward. Apart from Hamer media speak we have heard nothing concrete since the takeover. I do hope we can break ground by xmas as the momentum the club currently has needs to be maintained.

competitive with who though, coventry, sheff utd and charlton or Oldham and Rochdale? Probably the latter but it's not what you spend its how you spend it. I think until uwe is on the horizon it's going to be a holding operation in league one, although i imagine dc has received assurances this will happen within the three years of his contract.

I can't see any of the money from mem sale being directly spent on playing side and not sure wael is going to spend much / any of his on players either. My guess (I think I can say that) is the investment will be in infrastructure to generate more income so we become sustainable, and then reinvest. Hamer was very clear to say playing budget would be competitive, no more, no less. I think DC relishes that challenge as making himself known for alchemy / turning water in to wine will make him more valuable than being known as a big spender / gambler. It's a rare talent he seems to have, he'd be silly to try and compete with the big spenders for now and must know that is part of the deal here competitive with who though, coventry, sheff utd and charlton or Oldham and Rochdale?

£30m was the inflated price Sainsbury's were going to pay to build a supermarket on the land, but even they coughed at paying that much. Waitrose were rumoured to be the next highest at £22m but if Wael wants a quick sale he's likely to go for a residential land sale which would probably "only" make £15m. Regardless, unless I've missed it, I've not seen Wael or SH suggest the proceeds from the sale of the Mem are going to be handed over to DC for player recruitment. For all we know that's going to pay off the wonga loan etc & /or purchase the training ground, they are apparently buying this summer. As Wael takes about evolution not revolution I can't see handing DC a £30m transfer kitty is the former? I can see him just being given a good wage budget for Div 1 which is probably £2.5/£3m this season. You would be a right mug to announce to the football world "we have £30m to spend on players, now how much do you want for your right back ? " £2m,£10m,£20m,£30m,£40m whatever...it's the funds generated. I thought wonga was already paid off ? £30m is not revolution when contemplating a prem push . I wonder how much Bristol city have paid out in wages, transfer fees and loan signings in the last two years ? Yes exactly which is why wael is keeping everything low key, who actually pays transfer fees in league one anyway, seems to be only championship clubs doing that these days. Forgot about naming rights which will bring in millions over ten years. Wonder how much Amex paid brighton.

I think it depends on how much extra revenue can be generated from the uwe site to service the funds that look like they will be externally provided. If they build a hotel and put office space inside the stadium structure this could be considerable. Let's say we borrow 60m at 3% per annum that's 1.8m per season to find in interest payments. Could this be generated by external revenue, possibly. Add in three concerts a year as well and the debt servicing looks pretty straight forward. Obviously to gain investment at a low interest rate the al qadi's would need to guarantee the loans. If the scheme they are now working on can finance itself without the need for the mem money we really are looking at a whole new ball game.

Received a letter from BRFC in the post today telling me to return my season ticket, and that i will now be forced to sit on the naughty step outside the north terrace next season!

I think it will mean we can utilise the existing 12k capacity which we have a license for but which is never reached for segregation reasons. We will almost certainly have no matchday seats available next season so if you want to go to an individual match a terrace ticket (and possibly only an open one) may well put off the floating fan. so as I see that, the south stand st holders will be shifted to the new stand on big games, allowing the south stand to be fully filled with away fans and the whole east terrace home fans? That would make more sense as there would not then be a need for any segregation, could also be reviewed on a match by match basis, if there is the potential for a large away following we could then let them have the south stand and the away terrace. We had a few crowds around the 12k mark when the south stand was full width and the guiness stand was there. Not sure how the safety regulations work though.

DC stated. "I appreciate each and every message of support I have received and I can’t thank the Bristol Rovers supporters enough for their backing. pause... Accept Chippenhamgas". For PR reasons last 4 words were removed from release *except

You should personally write to DC with an apology for the posts that you wrote on this thread, shocking. Dear DC. I'm really sorry about the nasty post I wrote on gaschat. Yours. Chippenham Gas. Ps: I promise i will wait until xmas before commenting on your performance in the upcoming season.
