Give him credit for getting a team together and getting us back in league 1 thanks for that j b As long as you give him credit for taking us there in the first place. He gave up with six games to go.

I've been searching how test events are supposed to work and there are no hard and fast rules - basically it comes down to a plan/agreement between the builder, the operator and any safety groups. Both of these examples are bespoke builds. The Anfield Road Stand had a large capacity increase, and whilst Luton have had only a marginal increase in capacity the whole stand has been rebuilt in a new layout with new facilities. Test events are designed to check everything in the real world works as it was designed to, from electrics and plumbing to how people get in and out. Do people congregate in weird areas and therefore stop others moving past? Can the plumbing cope when it's being used at maximum capacity? The difference between the South Stand and these two examples is that this stand is nearly identical to existing stands (everything from seat layout, aisles, concourse access and overall access to the stand). So they're not relying on modelling or the rules to be pretty certain everyone can get in and out safely. Would we even need a test event? Million Dollar question (we'll probably about 50 grand!)

Who was manager of Exeter when they went 4-0 up on us in 24 mins? Saw lots of Rovers fans leaving at half time at that game. 22mins & at 3-0 for me My mates said they’d hang on because you never know. Exeter got the 4th just as I was let out by the steward a minute later😄 I stayed to the end. The half time queue for a drink was only two people!

Exactly. Not out Monkeys, not our Circus. That’s a Polish saying. Not heard anyone else use it You don't mind if I borrow it? Seems very apt under the circumstances.

As an Exeter city fan but also Rovers (ive lived here for 30 plus years)probably a good time to make my first post. I think Matt Taylor is a great choice for Rovers. He done well down at ours and is sadly missed by our fans (and some were secretly hoping he would return) .He's certainly better than we got at the moment! How accurate are reports of good footballing style. From the little I know I felt he was more pragmatic than many consider. Matt Jay was obviously a footballers footballer so alot depended when he played? Who was manager of Exeter when they went 4-0 up on us in 24 mins? To judge a replacement before he has even been announced is a weird post? By that logic appointing me or you would totally normal and not for criticism I'm up for it. You'll have to be the ass istant though.

denial anger bargaining depression acceptance Come on, you've done so well over the last 5 weeks, just need acceptance and we can all move on. Weird post. I was never pro barton. I was content to move on and no longer be associated with the skeletons. But to judge the replacement without reference to the past is burying your head in the sand. To judge a replacement before he has even been announced is a weird post?

5 weeks is crazy for sure but in what way is he less qualified than Barton? Taylor performed better in his promotion season than Barton, and he has experience in the Championship, being the first manager to keep Rotherham there since 2016 and the best performance for them since 2004. He has experience too of building a team and gaining promotion with it. Joey got promoted yes but it was absolutely hectic and was on the verge of getting sacked before going on an unbelievable run. He did it in one season instead 4... he's got experience at playing at prem level and more wins as a manager in the division we play. Seems crazy to believe this is a huge upgrade. Happy it's over. And good luck. denial anger bargaining depression acceptance Come on, you've done so well over the last 5 weeks, just need acceptance and we can all move on.

I read the Rotherham forum after he was sacked and they were all saying what a great manager he was despite the fact that his points reward was terrible. Did they mention reasons for not winning away in a year and conceding 2 goals a game this season? To be fair, I'll take winning at home over winning away. We are due a run of leaving the Mem with a smile on our faces. (No sniggering at the back)

We have to get past Crewe first. That'll be no walk in the park. New stand open for Boxing Day, surely? Partial opening for Cheltenham surely and hopefully the full Monty for Portsmouth, but I’m not sure if it works like that as it may need to be brought up in numbers over a certain amount of games? 🤷♂️ Those bloody shadows on the pitch desperately need sorting out it can’t be that difficult surely, but we are talking about Rovers here mind 🤪. This is quite interesting: www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-beds-bucks-herts-66639166and www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fans-invited-anfield-road-stand-test-eventThese two had to have 'Test Events', it looks like Luton only had to have a 75% capacity test event and then they were able to use it. Maybe Cheltenham can be the test event? The only bit that may stop it is that you cannot charge for a test event, so maybe that rules Cheltenham at home out?

You're such a fantasist. Do you really think it will be useable by the 3rd round? We have to get past Crewe first. That'll be no walk in the park. New stand open for Boxing Day, surely?I'll have a beer on not being able to use it this year.

Only two things wrong last night: 1) Slow play out from the back, putting us under pressure. I said on the Derby thread, the thing that Grant offers at CB is moving the ball quickly and we did miss that last night. No question Conner Taylor is a better defender and an absolute rock at the back. However for some reason, when he plays we get pegged in at the back. 2) Not taking our chances. We had plenty of chances to win that last night, but decision making in the final 1/3 was poor. Four occasions in the game where we should have scored: 1) First half switch from left to right was beautiful, Thomas takes the ball down lovely in acres of space. When there was green space to run into, he crossed into the box instead, was cut out by their defender. We should have at least got a shot on target out of that. 2) 2nd Half, Marquis 1 on 1 with the keeper 1st time. Goes for the far top corner, hits it over. Keeper was beaten, should have kept it down. 3) We win a free kick just outside the box on the RHS. A beautiful free kick, straight off the training ground ending with Evans in acres of space one the edge of the box with only the keeper to beat. Shot was shocking, still orbiting earth. NASA expecting reentry over the weekend. 4) Marquis 1 on 1 number 2. Clearly Marquis is struggling with confidence. He seemed to be in two minds as to how to beat the keeper. Ended up neither burying it or showing the keeper "The eyes" and slotting it away. We didn't have much urgency all night but still could have walked away with a good victory, we did create enough chances just made bad decisions at the key moments. Walking away, definately felt live 2 points dropped. Compared to the game vs Lincoln where it felt like 1 point won. Management sentiment the same as everyone else, give it to someone soon. It feels like it impacted on the squad last night. Maybe different to most is that I think Mangan can do the job. Agree with most of this. We put one of those chances, or Thomas's "toe-poke" away and confidence flows and we don't get pinned in. Taylor for me is great in the air and generally defending, but not a ball playing CH. The owners have had the luxury of Mangan doing better than "OK" until now and thus weeks to find their man, or are they getting turned down by candidates ? Not enough £, or budget or not allowed to bring in their own people ? Forgot about that Toe Poke. If only it could've curled slightly. Had a perfect view of it and it was about an inch wide. Clearly, the worst display I have ever seen Rovers put in (sarcasm to the moaners btw).

I didn't see him but I did see someone else. Scored for fun. Up there with our biggest transfer income (top 3). Played in West London. Played in the Premiership. First Name is Barrington. Don't want to start any rumours though. Barry Hayles will not be our new manager. I didn't say he would be, just that I saw him at the game.

People are beginning to stay away in their droves which is not a good sign.Even women’ football in Bristol attracts larger crowds, how embarrassing!! You OK hun? Droves? 200 people down on last mid week game. Temperature has dropped significantly since then. It was cold on the Thatchers last night. Women's football attracting a bigger crowd? While technically true, wasn't entry fee £5? It's a bit of a catastrophic post when the reality is somewhat different.
