There's one thing that DC has been unable to crack and that's the big team syndrome (doing poorly against clubs who expect to be higher in the league). Nothing new, a few years back we got hammered by Norwich, Leeds and Saints in L1 with only the very rare win or draw against such teams. Now, the club is flying under DC, but still we don't seem to pick up many points. Last season we lost to Pompey twice and this season we've lost to Sheff Utd and Bolton. So is DC and the players capable of changing this against the likes of Coventry and Charlton coming up and of course Millwall on Saturday ? What do others think ? Will we get a draw/win v Millwall. In my opinion we are just a big a club as Coventry or Millwall. We certainly have more paying supporters than either of them.

The above link can also find the 70's related Fleetwood BotS items. 1) Watney cup final programme as we beat Sheff Utd 7-6 on pens at Eastville with Dick Shepherd making the crucial penalty save.( this was meant to feature in the original date of the Fleetwood match is just before our match at Brammell Lane. 2) A yellow sharescheme tee shirt signed by Smash and Grab. All profits go to the 50/50 fund Very odd how the Watney Cup Final programme was printed in red for a game played at Eastville against opponents who played traditionally in red and white. Wouldn't happen nowadays. The internet would explode.

Q&A

Apparently we have commissioned a feasibility study to assess the results of the original feasibility study to look into whether the uwe is financially viable even though it's fully funded. Or something like that. Apparently it's taking longer than the forecasted, 2 weeks which does make you wonder if it's just a formality posters suggested it would be? Most likely E&Y are wondering how the hell they are supposed to make a £50m stadium appear viable for a Div 1 club presently attracting around 8,000 home gates at the Mem!! Without wishing to appear pedantic we are currently averaging closer to 9,000 than 8,000

At a quick glance we appear to have sold more tickets for this game than any other game that is on sale at the moment. Anyone know why that might be the case.

I have been an avid Rovers supporter since 1974. Go to most games, home and away. I get very agitated if Rovers are playing and I am not there I need to be near a tele or have the radio on. I hate not knowing what is happening.... Until now. Just got home from the pub read through this thread and remembered that we are playing in the Freight Rover cup. I did not see a mention of the result, but the thing is I don't care. I am not going to the Rovers website or bbc.com. I just don't care!

Had a change of circumstances regarding work today. Anyone know of a adult ticket for tonight going spare? Last time I looked Chelsea were still selling tickets at Stamford Bridge. My daughter is going up today to buy a couple. But they stop selling at 1600hrs.

More worrying is IF DC will talk to Leeds then he'd talk to anyone! Will this tempt better clubs to come knocking? I think that's harsh - like it or lump it they're the 'biggest' club outside of the top flight (maybe Newcastle rival them, but not bad company...) Thinking about it objectively, there are huge risks but DC isn't the type to dwell too much on the risks. If he can make it work there, he'll be a legend and secure himself a job in the top two flights for the rest of his career really. And whilst people scoff at the idea of money, both that and geography have to play a part for him I'd have thought. To us mere mortals the idea of going to Leeds is insane at the moment with Cellino in charge, but I'd argue if DC wasn't a little bit insane he probably wouldn't have got us where we are now. I don't begrudge him a nice Championship job, but I don't want him to risk his career over it. If he waits 6-12 months here others that are more stable would come calling I'm sure.

Depends on the price and the show. We are averaging 7k atm and that won't change unless we go up and provide a decent experience that is affordable. Sustained success would help but.... We are averaging 8k at the moment for this season
