No, DC didn't think he was good enough before, and now we have a settled squad why add to it, we have Leadbitter and Lockyer who does a good job there we don't have to spend the money for the sake of it. The team has moved on since Turley was originally in it's plans. Let's save the budget for when it's needed. Boring. He doesn't seem to see Leadbitter as a full back though in a 4-4-2 and Lockyer is better suited to CB. Did you go to the game v Gloucester? He was the best player on the pitch. I for one am not ready to bow down in front of DC yet. I am pleased with the upturn in form, especially at home but I am not convinced that it is due to DC but more likely the amazing support the team get from a lot of very loyal Gasheads. As Polak said, a lot of posters who know something about football rated Higgins, unless there was something damaged about Higgins no one else could see I think 'Trigger' may have overrated his ability in the world of psychology. I think a lot of fans would be happy to see Higgins given the same chance as Martin, Trottman and Cunnington.

I did and you are bang on, in fact, apart from Sinclair in that same match Higgins was probably the only player who had a trues spark that day. The truth of why Clarke did not think he was good enough has never come out. Only some poop waffle about mental ability to take the pressure of playing for Rovers. I support DC but he defo slipped up there.

... but we have to accept right now that we're here for at least another season. Even if Sir Alex or Mourinho took charge tomorrow, that is the reality of it. Jury is still out on Clarke - I love listening to him, but the fact is, he has failed to walk the walk so far. By some distance. Having said that, he has been sailed down the river beyond believe by Tony Twatola with lie after lie in respect of the budget. For that reason I feel for him. And given this season IS a write-off, do we now sack ANOTHER manager or see a season out and see what happens? Playoffs are out of the question, but IF things do improve, how nice would it be to stick with a manager for once? Don't get me wrong, if it goes any further down hill then cheerio. But this season is over so we now need to sit back and see what happens. I agree with you mate, but in all reality I did not really expect us to do anything in terms of promotion as at the end of last season we were too far gone. I could start ten threads about the issues we are currently suffering but here is the questions I would love answers to: DC indicated that he would not sign mentally unprepared/strong players. Our most impressive trialist, Ryan Higgins, was not signed but Leadbitter was, why? I am the only person who does not understand what role Lee Brown is meant to be playing? I have never seen him look so uncomfortable. Why can't we win a second ball? Why do we try and play head tennis until the opposition wins the ball rather than get it down on the ground ourselves? Ollie Clarke is a good guy but he looks scared to death on the ball. Why do we persist when Sinclair has much more tenacity and vision? Why do we sign Leadbitter and then play a ball winner like Lockyer at full back when we need someone with his desire in midfield? Ignore the excuse he was due for international duty, why sign Gosling and then resign him to the bench without even the nigh obligatory ten minutes, is this another mistake that DC cannot admit (and I have to sat Gosling looked a fair player in the pre-season friendlies)? Why, do I feel like my football club, one I have invested to much money, emotion and hope in over for over forty years seem not only to have no respect for both myself and other fans but seem to be completely incapable of managing ANY facet of the club. I get the impression that rather than admit they don't know what they are doing and getting someone on board who does, they would rather see this club go to the wall. We all know Mad Dog would probably turn this team around on the pitch, but would the board suffer his home truths and plain talking and the possible bruising to their over inflated egos? not a chance. Until someone who knows football, knows money and puts the club first comes on board we are fcuked. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

I nailed a new job this week. Good for the soul. Also, last night shift now before 12 days off which I'm gonna spend drinking, reading, sleeping and fishing and tryin to grow a beard. Yeah, me too, gas Saturday then off to North Cornwall to try and fool a monster Bass with a little piece of plastic whilst clambering over rocks - solitude. Think we all probably have a lot more to be thankful for than we realise. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

Is Higgins still without a club ? Seems so. Complete travesty IMHO. Still as I keep being told, DC knows what he is doing and get tinted and behind him. As you know yourself Jools, common sense very often says otherwise but misplaced authority often gets given too much credit.

DC specifically said he was building a team with mental strength because of the weight of expectation. He would interview players and ensure they were tough. Now he is saying we are struggling because the players are not mentally strong enough. Exactly Did DC not refuse to sign one of the best trialists, Ryan Higgins, because he felt he would not be strong enough mentally? What did he sign instead?

Started well. Fell apart. Defence is all over the place. Alty walking through at times. Fans not happy. When we actually play on the deck they couldn't get near us. That lasted about 5 minutes. I am afraid that we need better than DC. He won't last long in anycase but there we have it. It is what it is as the Mrs says. We could not score in a brothel right now. I don't think travelling for so long is going to help and it's bloody silly. I cannot wait to see the so called review. Seems they have cut back on everything but the main causes. Them This..... Twice.

No apparently all the rose tinted think we are fine and DC is doing fine....,,, Oh so it's the rosetinters fault we're losing is it ... Pathetic No, it's not their fault, that's down to the manager and players. Just cannot understand so many people think this is/going to be okay. Would not have called them pathetic though, still your entitled to your opinion ?

I agree, and I am sorry but any club that can attract 7000 size home crowds should never be financially outgunned by clubs that average less than a quater of that number. Higgins and Frear are exactly the type of players we all could see we needed. Instead we sign players who have struggled at this level. Oh, and buying and playing a striker who is at least a stone overweight does not inspire confidence either.

Not signing Higgins becomes odder by the day, surely he would have played tonight given he played all pre-season but Leadbitter's been dropped after less than one full game. Still cannot understand it. I have put a lot of faith in DC but that decision started doubts in mind and they are getting greater by the day.

Time for the Bod to get the cheque book out and stop being penny pinching lady gardens We as fans are to blame, as instructed by the BOD we need to buy more pasties. How a can a club with the amazing support we provide, phenomenal according to some reports, feck it up so badly. Still the Limoncello will be sweet and flowing in the balmy Italian Riviera tonight and the Mem will seem those many miles away.

Sorry but when DC decided to dismiss one of the only creative players we trialled I guessed we were going to see the son of JW. The long ball on Saturday and the theory of building a brick wall at the back is very reminiscent of last season. Brick walls are not very mobile. Depressing but not unsurprising.
