Someone, who will remain nameless, said penalties don't count, guess they weren't counting on Luke James or Ellis Harrison when they made that assessment!

over the car park according to gasplayer! A massive jeer when he did it. Good to know we're right behind the boys. Right behind the boys, unless you think Ellis will be checking gasplayer during the course of the game?

But our poor goal difference would mean its all but over Southend draw and we beat Millwall 17-0 to spark wild celebrations. What a day it'll be. Southend lose and we have to over turn Millwall by 4 or 5, that'd make for an interesting afternoon at the mem. Currently they're +11 and us +1, with the draw and Millwall lose scenario we could do with Oxford winning by 2, or more.

All we can do is win today. We must win and Southend must lose. Rochdale to draw and also a Millwall draw to take it to the last game. Odds on all of that? 0-2 Lumley with both. It's not as complicated as that. Simply Millwall and Southend to not win, and it goes to the last day. Assuming we win, of course. Exactly. Draws are just as good as losses, won't make any difference, apart from to the nerves. There are four games that we need to be draws or losses, Millwall today, Southend today and next week, Rochdale either this week or next, combined with two rovers wins of course. There is one exception, rovers draw today and southend and Millwall have to lose, still goes down to the last day then.

Heart says win but head looks at the fact that we've only two away wins all season that weren't against the fellow teams promoted from league two last season, although we did perform excellently at Sheffield united and Bolton, which Rovers will it be? Why are you discounting those 3 games though. Wins are wins. By that logic, we have only won one game all season that wasn't against a league 1 side! Cardiff. I don't know the reason but surely it's more that a coincidence? 3 from 3 v fellow promoted teams 2 from 19 v the rest, one of which was a derby Is it in the mind? Is it over respect? Is it quality? Or is it coincidence? Anyway, that's why my head says no despite my heart. What do others think?

You are making my point for me. You are describing the CHANCES Taylor had. Chances that James doesn't get because his positional play isn't on the same planet as Taylor's or even the same planet as a striker worthy of the name. In a recent interview, DC said "we are playing Luke in a position he is not used to as a striker, but will come good".... Luke is following orders from DC and if DC is playing him out of his natural position then we know who to blame don't we...... Even if it's not his favoured position he'd still find himself getting goals in the course of a game, but he simply isn't a goalscorer. We have much better players who can play a deeper/supporting role,ie Bodin and Sinclair. All the other attacking players need replacing, it may be that some are retained as squad players, but James would be way down that pecking order.

" James can't play" Is that definitely the case? Good news if it is.

If it's mathematically possible after next Saturday then I believe there's a real chance.
I know I won't be thanked for reminding everyone, but remember Wycombe away penultimate game, we thought we'd done it, but... It is quite possible for southend to be thinking that as they go into a home match with bury.
Remember last year, we all thought Accrington would do it.
Southend do have two tough matches.
If we are in contention then I believe our boys are best placed to deal with the pressure out of the four teams.

Lack of service? Lack of finishing? Service ok not great but Harrison and James pretty useless. To be fair they're conference strikers maybe league 2 at best so hard to blame them for not being good enough. I'd like to see Easter and Moore replace them half time. It's a bit like trying to select the least blunt knife for the job.

Trollope mistake was that he was a useless at managing, rather than coaching, a team. DC also said in his interview the owners share the same views about the club's progression, was he hinting that we need to get the stadium plans resolved with the UWE? If we don't then he could well move on, but that's always likely anyway, as he's clearly ambitious and we can't progress much further whilst were stuck at the Mem. Changing 8 of the starting line up would be to take all the progress we've made and tear it up.[/] Adding 8 better players to the squad wouldn't be. We'll need Sweeney and Lumley, or other equals, we need a second keeper too, a whole new department upfront, that's 7.

First reaction to the interview was a bit worrying as we all know DC is the biggest asset our club has.
But what would we want him to say? Most managers would of focused on just saying "look what a great season we've had, over achieved..." Not DC, he is incredibly ambitious, hardworking and pretty intelligent, he's focused on what's ahead and he's applying the pressure to make sure everyone else is working to achieve the next goal: promotion to the championship.
Everyone who's part of the management and staff must get on board, IF they don't keep pace then he'll be off, fair enough.
Will he be off in the summer? Simply can't say, but, IF everyone and everything is working to that clear goal and it is realistically achievable then I think he'll stay.
