What a result and performance yesterday. Phil Brown looked dejected as he came off.
Time to look forward and dream.
Looking at Millwall fixtures and ours it's clear there is a route to the playoffs. Our games all look winnable. It's going to be tight.
Millwall have two tough fixtures - could easily drop points. One game at a time I hear you say but we can do this.
My simple analysis is below. It could go down the wire on the last game of season vs Millwall!!!
Our predicted points total:
Bury 3 Chesterfield 3 Coventry City 3 Shrewsbury Town 3 AFC Wimbledon 3 Gillingham 3 Oldham Athletic 3 Peterborough 3 Millwall 3
84pts
Millwall predicted total:
Bury 3 Rochdale 3 Swindon 3 Millwall 3 Scunthorpe United 1 Gillingham 3 Northampton Town 3 Fleetwood 1 Oxford United 3 Bristol Rovers 0
81
Lots of games and twists and turns to come. Exciting times!

If we got 84 we should finish higher than 6th

Scunthorpe are the ones we will replace in the playoffs.

I got a sneaky feeling we are about to charge again ,the team spirit is undoubted, we have that bit of quality now at the back and gaffney and James look like it could work
Time will tell! Let's get behind em all the way
Whatever it looks like on 30th Apr, great season in L1

Realistically we need to win 6/7 of our last 9 to do it.
Can we do it?

Forget my calculations. Pretty sure we can do this. Quietly the players will believe it too.

Realistically we need to win 6/7 of our last 9 to do it. Can we do it? Last season we had that 6 game winning run in March that put us right in contention for a top 3 finish. We'd need to do that again, by winning the next 4 games. It is definitely doable and we ought to be looking at cathing Scunthorpe if anyone.

Head says we'll just miss out, there are six better teams than us. Heart says why not, this squad never gives up. We need to take one match at a time and then move on. COYB. UTG!

Who's gonna score the goals in the play off semi against Bradford? That's my worry.

Can't see us catching Millwall but Scunthorpe are currently in freefall. Over three games soon they've got Bradford, Millwall and Bolton. On the down side though, their last three games of the season are against the current bottom three.

7 wins & 2 loses would give us 75 points and that may be just enough? With our run in I don't think that is unrealistic.

TBH I do not think there are 6 better teams than us. The only teams I thought were are Millwall (but we were down to 10 early on and have only played once) Walsall and Charlton (although I do think DC threw the away game making 6 changes from the team that had won the previous 2)

Before the season started I said to my lad that I would love it if we got to the play offfinal but just lost out to one of the "big - name" teams.
My reasoning was that we would not be ready for the Championship, but that by maintaining interest to the very end of the season would mean increased attendances, plus a sell out home leg and a shed load of money from the Wembley final.
I think those factors together with the extra money would give DC the ability to strengthen, and would encourage Wael to give him A FIVE YEAR CONTRACT!

Would be more than happy with that although I would be over the moon if we went into our last game with even a remote chance of a playoff place. I think we probably would struggle in the championship if we did go up, but then again I thought we would struggle in this league. We are so fortunate to have a squad and coach that continue to exceed expectation. As stated previously great times to be a gashead. UTG
