I’d rather sign a good player on the last day of the window than a rubbish player in the first week. Trouble is -- The way we are going we'll probably sign a rubbish player last day of the window.

At least tonights result will show our owners what needs to be done to at least be a mid table Championship side. Hope you have deep pockets.

So you'd rather have stuck with Barton's boom or bust including crocked and out of form players and absolutely no financial accountability...? About as sustainable as Bury. Steve's always just wanted any Rovers manager to spend £100K's on players, whether that was sustainable or not seems irrelevant to him. At least Steve knows what he is talking about

I'm also directly linked to the Morgan family - the book has chapters on both Jerry Morgan and Jimmy Morgan as well as details of every known fixture played by the Morgan family. The book also contains a detailed Morgan family tree, family photographs and memories, and appendices detailing every match played for Bristol Rovers by Jimmy and Jerry Morgan. Signed copies will be available shortly directly from the author at morgan.family@btinternet.com And yes, I am the author........ Well done Larry

Forget about JCH . I would rather go for Sam Smith at Reading especially as they are selling off there players to keep afloat. Not sure what his value is but got to be a better proposition than Harris. Believe he's only about 25 as well.

Maybe so -- But can you or any other person please tell me what Collins is bringing to the party at present ? He seems to flit around the pitch without actually achieving anything. Yesterday was a new low. Thank God our manager also noticed this and hooked him off. He has the highest number of assists in league 1 this season so far. Give you that -- But how many goals has he scored ? I think if we were to talk about diving . He would be the highest scorer in Europe. As I said I believe the manager is starting to take notice of him.

Maybe not January -- But I seriously would be considering replacing Collins in the summer. Glad you arent in charge then Maybe so -- But can you or any other person please tell me what Collins is bringing to the party at present ? No idea how people don’t see the poor decision making of Cox. He’s made several really good stops, but equally he’s been rooted to his line for every cross and is simply not anywhere near good enough at this level. No upgrade on Belly whatsoever. Why oh why didn’t we go all out to get Ripley or someone in the Summer. Awful recruitment What a stupid statement to make. If it was'nt for him it could have been 5or 6.

Al hamadi scored again Let’s outbid Peterborough and really make a statement!! You do realise peterboro are looking at preparing a bid in the region of 1.5 mill. Don't think we could compete with half that.

Not really sure that's relevant though to be fair. If Taylor had been our manager all that time, then maybe. But suggesting a couple of sh*te signings (who just happened to be young) effectively point towards us not being able to sign a quality youngster moving forwards is a bit far fetched IMO.
By the same token, I could argue "anyone thinking we can splash a bit of cash and get a decent striker", I give you Martin Cameron, Mickey Evans, Tom Nichols etc. etc. etc. Of course its possible to find them but I dont think we have the resources to do that, and that has been backed up with our poor record of signing young players. JCH will score goals and goals win games. No brainer for me but if the club think they can do better for less money ill get the popcorn out.... Us signing JCH disappeared when Joey Barton left.

My dad took me to the Stoke City match at Eastville for my first Rovers match on 20th January 1962. We scored both and lost 2 nil. I had previously gone to Ashton Gate to see City beat Notts County 6 nil on the 16th December 1961.

Please can certain posters stop referring to others as haters just because they supported Joey Barton. Yes I was firmly in the Barton camp. But I now recognise he has gone and so I am fully behind Matt Taylor. I also want Rovers to win every match as I would imagine all Rovers fans will do. So in the interest of common sense can certain supporters refrain from calling others haters.

I know it is the nature of the industry, but If you had bought into what that manager had sold you about your development and future, human nature for some might mean you are left a bit disillusioned. But at the same time the transfer window opens in less than a month, so if they want to play after that, they have to impress the manager now. They will know the board tried to sign JCH, so no one's place is safe if they back the manager in January. It's not like most of them were performing for Barton and buying into his visions. If they did, he wouldn't have been sacked. Do you honestly believe he was sacked on results alone -- Because I don't.

Hopefully we'll hear something soon about improvements and investment in the scouting and recruitment departments. Not sure why these appointments are taking so long, especially with January around the corner. Knowing our club these appointments will all be sorted out in Feb.

I thought this on Saturday after a match which must rank as one of the worst I have ever watched with both teams being as bad as one another with an incredible number of simple passes going astray and some long moments where the two teams seemed intent on passing the ball back to each other. Many would probably say thank god i dont do match reports anyway! I dont do them anymore because watching the games on a TV screen is not the same as being present at the ground and seing the wide picture. Due to health reasons i have only been to one game in the last 2 years but watching Saturday made me not worry if i never watched them again. It really was that bad and what concerns me is that these players should all have been trying to show the new manager what they can do- on that performance i would suggest Sunday morning football I totally agree with you. ( If I'm allowed to ) But saturdays match especially the first half was one of the worst certainly in my top five of games I have witnessed in the 60 plus years of going to watch Rovers. At one point I think we were defending a corner with about 7/8players on the line and not one further up the pitch than the penalty spot. If I'm to renew my season ticket I will need to see a vast improvement.

Totally agree -- Today we were sh**. How can you agree, how long have you been watching us? 4-0 at Huish to Yeovil, I was at Braintree as well. I think we need to first of all stop making stupid comments like this I've been watching since 1961. And of course I can agree. That today was up there with some of our worst performances ever. Especially the first half. I was also at that 4-0 at Huish as well as the 9-0 at Spurs the 6-1 at Cambridge. So don't tell me what I can agree with or not.
